I wasn’t sure if I was going to participate in the jam this week, although when I saw the writing prompt for January 31 was “yes” – immediately in my spirit I heard, “Yes, Lord!” I am certain our Father loves to hear those two words. Yesterday at church we sang, “I’m trading my sorrows – I’m trading my pain…yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord.” It doesn’t take much to convince me that Holy Spirit is confirming a word to me…
The word “yes” easily rolls off the tongue; “no” requires the tongue to shift upward to the roof of one’s mouth and then presses against the front teeth, the lips must form a big O and then the word, “NO!” breaks forth. It’s easier to say yes, but, should we be yes people?
Could you ____?
Can you ____?
Will you ____?
Would you ____?
Each one of us can fill in the blank with those constant requests that eat away our “yeses to better things”!
When God leads us to do something, go somewhere, give something, then yes, we are wise to say yes.
Perhaps if we said “no” more often to the well-meaning requests made of us, we’d have more time and energy to say “yes” to the Lord.
O! for grace to say, “Yes LORD!” each and every time He instructs and leads.
Say yes over at Faith Barista!
Sharing with Bonnie and friends as we ponder “yes.”
Love that song! Thanks for reminding me of it. I’d like to get it stuck in my head today to remember to say “yes” to the things the Lord is asking me to do with him today. Only by grace…
I am dealing with one of those situations right now! I say yes to the Lord and have drawn the boundary to say NO to those things that are not my concern, should not be my concern, cannot consume me! When I am consumed by other things, I get off the path the Lord has set out for me.
Again Sis-tah, you are RIGHT ON!
Yes to God’s call! I agree.
Brilliant! Praying that we learn to listen to His voice, quietly whispering to us, tellng us when to say no to others to make room for more “YES” in Him
