The Great Request
Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. 21 Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22 Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus. John 12.20-22
Would they ask me?
And, that is the question that burned into my heart this weekend as I watched online church. The scripture above is very telling. The Greeks went to one of their own, Philip, and said, “We want to see Jesus.” In plain talk, they were asking Philip to take them to Jesus.
Now, if you want to know, see, or do something unusual you would ask someone you believe would be able to deliver the goods, right?
If someone wanted to know Biblical Truth, would they ask me? Have I lived my life, my witness to that end? I pray so.
Ask me
Just to reiterate my stand, my plumb line, if you will…I say nothing without weighing it by The Word of God. My opinions are not my opinions, they are God’s. If I didn’t – I’d be every which way but loose.
I don’t say things to make someone happy or feel good about themselves – I will search Scripture and see what God has to say about it.
Again, I love how Billy Graham would answer folks who interviewed him, “Do you mean Reverend Graham, that you think so and so is wrong?”
To which he would say, “The Bible says, ………………….”
Truth always wins.
I love you, Sus’. Not sure why it is sometimes SO HARD for me to stand for the truth in which I believe except maybe my fear of rejection. Which then begs the question of where is my fear of rejection by God Himself? I am a hot mess in this area. Just keeping it real. And wanted to say that if I ever manage to grow up I want to be more like you in this area.
Shelby, first of all thank you!!! Rejection is a tough emotion to break. But, ask Holy Spirit to release you from this stronghold of rejection. You are completely and totally accepted by Your heavenly Father – I know you know that, but I’m reminding you!!!
Convicting!

Right?
If we don’t stand for Truth, we stand for nothing at all.
Amen.
Love this, Susan, it is a good reminder to take care how we speak and what we portray to others, especially during tough times. thank you!!
My blogs are usually sermons to the choir – if you know what I mean!!!
We must always go to the source and live out God’s truth in this world looking for answers! Great reminder, Susan!
So good to see you, Beth!!!
Wonderful post as always. I appreciate YOU and I would never hesitate to ask YOU. Love Billy Graham and so well remember his always saying “the Bible says………” !
I want to be like him!
Earlier today I said to someone, ” We truly need to be careful to filter our life through the truth of God.” Every disappointment, Every discouragement. Every pain. Every joy. Every success. All of it. It would be a joy to sit with you and have a heartfelt discussion 🙂 And sometimes, I feel we truly do through our emails, our blogging, and our comments. xo
Jo, the only thing missing is a cuppa and some flesh!!!!!
