“Drink more water!”
“Drink half your body weight in ounces!”
And, the list goes on. But, when I left the hospital with the diagnosis of congestive heart failure I was told to limit my daily liquid intake to 71 ounces. When you start tracking your sips, that isn’t much.
I was one of those gallon a day people – but not anymore. You see, they (the doctors) are afraid I’ll start to retain water again and that would not be good for me. Although, I am on TWO diuretics. Some of you may know how hard these rules are for me… you know, doctors, meds, don’t do this, do more of that, etc.
But, I am committed to being a good patient and I did ask the Lord for fifteen more years! Plus, I have a husband who watches me like a hawk!
No one has restricted me from drinking from the Well of Life! Remember Sam at the well?
When you drink of this water you will never thirst again. John 4.14
Sam of Samaria – my, my I do love that woman. I wrote a lot about her in my 31 Days in the Gospel of John.
The Word of God is my Living Water and all restrictions are lifted! Ready for the Bible drill?
If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. John 7.37
O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirst for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water… Psalm 63
Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat… Isaiah 55
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22.17
but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4.14
I will watch my water consumption in the physical and I will overindulge in the Living Water.
He is my Hope and my Stay!
