Though the fig tree does not blossom, nor fruit be on the vine. Though the labor of the olive fail and the fields yield no food. Though the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herds in the stall…Yet I will rejoice in the Lord I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, He will make my feet like deer’s feet and He will make me walk on my high hills. Habakuk 3:17-19
This is my 2010 Scripture and I thought it appropriate in the tumultuous times we are living. I have memorized the verse and I like to say it back to Father when I pray. It is my opinion that the Lord loves to hear us recite His words and I do it often. A few weeks ago I was doing this and as I got to the last sentence this is what came out of my mouth, Lord, You are my strength, You will make my feet like deer’s feet and You will make me walk on my high heels. At once I realized what I said and the Lord & I had a wonderful laugh!!!
But, you know, there is much truth in that! God enables us to do many things that we don’t think we can do. I have said many times to people, God won’t ask you to do anything that He won’t enable you to do. He is the Enabler and if He wants to help me walk on my high heels (which I don’t wear anymore!), He will.
The point is this…don’t have fear about the unknown or the days ahead. Our Father has our future in His hands and they are such capable hands. After all, He will even help us walk in those high heels!
Rejoicing in Hope!
Love that we ARE in His capable hands, even if it’s help to “walk in those high heels!” He IS our Enabler and will give us the courage, power, strength, or whatever is necessary to carry on the task He has give to us! Thanks Susan for sharing!
Thanks Barbara, for visiting!
So very true! God helps us to do the things we don’t think we can do. I read that verse and actually said high heels before I even read the rest of the entry.
Easy to do, Tara!!!
Love this! God definitely carries us, even when (or especially when?) we’re in high heels/hills. 🙂
Yes, He certainly does!
This is a favorite verse, and forever more I will remember it with a picture of high heels. Thank you!
I know, right? Thanks, Lisa.
What a wonderful promise we have in His provision! (High heels or otherwise 🙂 )
Amen!!!
Yes Dear Heavenly Father in my-our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, You will enable me-us to walk comfortably in high heels….Thank You for the gift of a Supernatural life….We are Stars because You make us.
🙂
God enables us to do whatever he wants us to do. Then, when we feel enabled we feel so blessed. Thank you for sharing this with me. I am so blessed by your perspective. Much love! Cheering you on! #RaRaLinkup
Hi Kelly! Thanks for the visit!
I love the laughter shown here between you and God and how open you are to Him. Memorizing anything is hard for me, but it is so important – so thank you; I am hoping to start learning some more Scripture off by heart! 🙂 Lovely to meet you at the Cheerleading link-up and look forward to reading more of your work! God bless 🙂
Ruth, so glad you came by! Ra! Ra!
The title caught my attention right away. My Pastor preached from this text a few months ago. Seeing deer on my front lawn is a regular occurrence but after hearing that message, I never look at them the same. Thank you for sharing. It has reminded me I am as sure footed as the deer.
Tyra, even in high heels!!! LOL! Ra! Ra!
