When Friends Meet
It had been on the calendar since before Christmas and finally the day was here. Three of my dearest friends were coming to the flat. Two had already seen our second-floor, downtown flat but one would be seeing it for the first time.
I like to watch the reaction.

We chatted and then went downtown for lunch. The conversation was engaging.
I’m going to share with you, dear readers, what I learned from my friends!
From the elder…left us all pondering this thought, Does Holy Spirit rest over your home so others find rest and safety there?
From HM…left me speechless as she shared three intense visions with us. Whew.
From the young one…how much fun she is having running her B and B! She and her husband live in a huge home and they are now empty-nesters so she turned the three bedrooms into lodging! She told us about some of her guests and how blessed she is by “most” of them!
I learned we are all bun-less! Three of us had burgers and left the buns to the side. And, we are all generous tippers.
After lunch, we went through the downtown area and the elder mentioned the little shoppe “Saved From the Dump.” The young one, and the driver, impressed us all with her excellent parallel skills. The shoppe was a delight (it always is) – each one of us made purchases and off we headed to the flat. Coffee and tea all around.
We talked more. We sipped our cuppas and then 3 o’clock struck. Off they went, northward bound back to where we used to live.
Good friends are God’s bonus presents – I have many and I consider myself extremely blessed.
Right now, I’m admiring the pretty, blingy wall lamp I bought for over the twin bed in the loft – it had been “saved from the dump.”
Come to think of it…so was I – saved from the dump, I mean.
Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him! Romans 5.9 (NIV)
Saved from the Dump and so much more!
What fun. I miss my friends from PBC. Make new ones in TV I hope.
Of course, you will.
Sounds like everyone had a great time. Was out with one of my best friends on Friday of last week. Drove to Gastonia to a little shop by the name of Buttercup Boutique , just for ladies..clothing and jewelry, very reasonable prices and then we ate at Chantilley Tea Room. You might want to go it out Susan. Have a blessed day. Love u. Sandy
Sounds like a fun place. Will definitely check it out.
Sounds like a fun day!
It was a fun day.
I love reading about your day with your friends. I had to laugh about the “bunless” part. I wondered what that meant when I first read it! 🙂
Laurie, trust me we all have much padding in the fleshy bun department!!!!! ROTFLOL!
Time with friends – when God’s in it- beautiful things happen – and your day was filled with beautiful things happening! Blessings to you in your new digs!
YES! To all the things and THANK YOU for those blessings.
“Good friends are God’s bonus presents,” oh I love that thought, Susan! Amen to that! The older I get, the more thankful I become for His gifts!
Right?
We all had the best time, we always do when we get together, it’s our haven of rest. We can always be open and share with each other with no fear, in what we say, because we have a bond with each other, and some of us can’t remember any way, hehe. Love and cherish our time together. Besties forever!
Me too, HM, me too. 20 years and counting of FRIENDSHIP. Friends Forever!
Friends are the best! I’ve been saved from the dump. Praising God my Lord and my Redeemer and Friend! xxx
AMEN, sis.
Sounds like a wonderful day, and that you have like minded friends.
Love it that y’all went bunless.
And I’ve been saved from the dump, too!
Ah the freedom of being over 60 and bun-less!!!
