As you know I get all kinds of excited when Holy Spirit reveals thoughts and truths to me. Such a moment came Sonday morning in worship.
We have to go way back to the beginning…as in Genesis.
The Word is clear that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit were present at the time of Creation – They always “were”. They are the “I AM.” Outside of time – They are.
Genesis 1.26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” Plural, as in the Three-in-One.
We know God is Spirit – no physical form; yet, Jesus is God with a physical form. I like to say, God in an earth suit!
God was clear to Adam and Eve to not eat of a certain tree – we know that Eve was challenged, by Satan himself, to eat it anyway. She was deceived and ate it, and, Adam, WITH HER (Genesis 3.6).
God is sovereign, He knew they would eat the forbidden fruit. I believe that with all my heart and head – but, it came to me Sonday morning – that crucial moment in human history…
God’s heart broke because He knew Plan A was thwarted and Plan B began. You see, God’s original plan was Eden – perfection, life without end in beauty…but once sin entered the heart of man God had to put in motion Redemption and He knew that meant His beloved Jesus would have to go to earth as God-Man, as a newborn babe and one day His arms spread on a cross beam redeeming man to Himself once again.
God’s heart broke. He knew what had to happen for redemption to take place. He knew He would have to turn away from His beloved Son as He took upon Himself the sins of the world.
He sent His Son. His only Son. His beloved Son. Into a dark, desperate world as a Lamb, filled with humility and love.
Lord Jesus, now we await You as Lion of Judah, reigning King.
Yes, Lord, we await You.
xo
Waiting with an open, yearning heart. Thank you for this, Susan, it’s beautiful!
Shelby, you are always so kind with your comments.
Beautiful words Sue. Are we ready? I have enjoyed my “temporary” earthly time and when God is ready for me, whenever that is, I am ready for my ” permanent” home. A glorious day it will be!!
O! What a day!
When I saw your picture in the link up, I thought, “Oh, good, I get to read Susan today!” I’m always blown away by the theological truth that comes with the fall. God was not taken by surprise (OH NO, they sinned – now what are we gonna do?), but at the same time, as you say, He was heartbroken by their poor choice and the implications for His Son. Our salvation is such a wonderful and intricate and yet marvelously simple transaction. So thankful for your words today.
A profound, simple conundrum!!! Thank you Michele for such a kind encouragement! Will be visiting you in a short bit.
As the days grow darker here on earth I keep saying, ‘come Lord, quickly’ so much more. I am ready! I sure hope He doesn’t tarry much longer. Great post!
Ana, my grandma was certain it would be in her lifetime and she’s been in heaven 32 years – she had her own “personal” rapture. One way or the other, we as believers, will see His face! Thanks for coming over.
Thank you, Suze
Thank YOU for always being faithful to read!
Hi Susan,
I’m your neighbor at Coffee for your Heart today. What beautiful thoughts about God’s heart for us and how we await him today and celebrate his coming for us because he loved us! Lovely thoughts today!
Valerie, glad we’re neighbors sharing our love for the Eternal One!
Ah, waiting. So hard and so beautiful. Thanks for these words and for linking up at #ThreeWordWednesday.
You are exactly right: hard and beautiful. xo
Beautiful! Let us wait for this precious lamb who was born in a stable in Bethlehem!
The humble, loving Lamb soon to be our returning Lion of Judah!
Susan, I am so blessed that you are my friend.. Your words guide, encourage and pour God’s love and understanding over, around and through us. So grateful! Keep it coming! 🙂
Holy Spirit is busy among us!!! xo
What a beautiful blog post. I am so happy to have stumbled upon your blog. <3 <3 Merry Christmas!! – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
Gingi, me too! Going to return the visit right now. Merry Christmas!
Thank you for stopping by! *bug hugs* <3 <3 – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
And you, here!
I love his, Susan! It’s so true!! I have said more than once that we were designed for Eden and have been trying to deal with the impact of the choice there ever since. If I take that to a logical end in my imagination, then we were not designed for sickness, pain, grief, or so many other things we struggle with throughout our lifetime. Your post certainly also puts in bold relief the level of God’s love for us to make such a sacrifice! Thank you!
Yes! Thanks for coming by Pam!
So good to read gospel words today. Thank you for sharing!
Gospel words – I like that! Life-giving words!
Ah yes… the shifting of perspective to see the Christmas Story from the Fathers view –it’s a powerful shift, yes?
More powerful than we realize, I believe.
Thanks for visiting your “neighbor” at Tell His Story! I am certainly thankful that God had a Plan B!
Kim, thank Him for plans b, c, and more!
God’s will is so perfect and beautiful. He knew Adam and Eve would fall, but He also knew that Jesus would redeem us on the Cross if we accepted Him. His plan is a mystery to me. I don’t understand it all. God is faith and good anyway. Thanks for this important Christmas message.
Mary, perfect and beautiful. He is.
“Lord Jesus, now we await You as Lion of Judah, reigning King.” AMEN! He loves us so much, how can we not love and trust Him!
Blessings!
It’s a choice, eh Gayl? I choose HIM!
Amen! It’s nice to know the Lion of Judah has my back, my present and my future–all I hav eto do is align myself with him on a daily basis.
It’s a daily surrender, isn’t it, Anita?
(I had to scroll a long way to get to the bottom of your comments! )
Amen! AMEN! Yes, the Lion of Judah! Even so come!!
Oh YES, LORD!
My heart is full with the words the Holy Spirit spoke to you about Genesis. I am in awe of how He works in each of us and so blessed you shared it with all of us.
Thursday blessings!
Mary, your words fill mine! Thank you!
