fren•zy, a noun. a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behavior.
My “to finish” pile.
Do you have one of these? Do you fret over it?
Years ago I had so many projects started I was having a very difficult time focusing on anything besides them. The Lord began to convict me and His Spirit was extremely convincing in showing me that IF something was worthy of beginning, it was worth finishing!
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1.6
This scripture is one of those bedrock promises of God I sink my heels into. I have a few people in my life who gave their hearts to Jesus at a young, pre-teen age; their hearts are His but their daily lives don’t always reflect HIM! I know beyond a shadow of doubt God, who saved them will complete them before it’s all said and done! My mom and grandmother taught me to “hold on” to God’s promises because He never breaks them. These two awesome women hung on, held on, latched on to THAT truth years ago as they prayed and believed my sister and I would be the 99th and 100th sheep the Good Shepherd would hunt down to the ends of the earth if need be. And, He sure did. He found me high as a kite around a bonfire in LaClede Idaho in 1984 and my sis somewhere in South Florida!
And, since then? God has been busy completing us in Christ Jesus! We aren’t 100% but we’re getting there – every day a bit closer. Personally, I believe the full completion comes when we gaze into the face of The One who saved us by His grace! Amen?
Now, back to the stack! Before the calendar turns unto another season my pile of books and monthly magazines will be whittled down to a very short stack of Bible, journal, and maybe one devotional. I have until Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Hold me accountable, okay? If truth be told, as it should be, I have two sewing projects that need finishing also – but I will because I have the great Convincer of heart and the Convicter of soul working on my behalf.
