The Reverend Billy Graham was asked hard questions ALL THE TIME. He would always answer, “The Bible says….” Now, if the interviewer didn’t like the answer, guess what? He’d have to get mad at God not Billy! What a wonderful example Mr. Graham set for all of us.
We will be asked hard questions if we are serious about our faith.
Ms. Lauren Daigle got hit with a question recently – I’m sure most of us are familiar. She was caught off guard, after all she was there to SING, not be interviewed. I, in no way, fault Ms. Daigle. Not one tiny bit. And, I imagine next time she will be better prepared.
Reverend Graham had the right idea – just know The Word, and quote it. The Bible NEVER changes. It does not matter if our culture changes – God’s Word never does.
Let your yes be yes and your no be no.
The one thing, as Christ-followers? We want to speak truth in love.
Is sex outside of marriage wrong?
The Bible says, ““Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” Hebrews 13.4
Is Jesus the only way to heaven?
The Bible says, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14.6
I could use a myriad of examples here and I am going to hone my answer-base because I want to know the answers to the hard questions.
The Bible says…
All the anger and the blame gets shifted to God and you know what? Last time I checked? God can take care of Himself. He requires NO DEFENDING.
My responsibility is to know WHAT “the Bible says.”
Ms. Daigle, I love your music and I know that you know Truth…I offer grace as every other believer should.
Because, the Bible says…
See what I mean?
