If truth be told – you could ditch the bird and just fill the table with side dishes. THAT’s where the flavors are – now don’t get me wrong we will have turkey, one traditionally roasted and one, deep-fried! Yet, in my book? The Sides take it.
This week I’m working on the “questions” that will land under each plate around the table. We go to our daughter’s for Thanksgiving and we break bread around a huge farmhouse table (bought at a thrift store by my thrifty girl and refinished by her artsy husband) and I will sit at that table with my husband, my was-band and most of my especially-loved ones (except for two). I have pretty placards to hand letter and daughter will give me an assignment list of to-do’s and to-get’s. The big day is getting close – my most favorite holiday of the year! [Next Wednesday I’ll share some of the after-dinner questions I chose!]
This week’s featured NEW printable is Garlic Smashed Potatoes (seen first here; also, two printables from last year – they are worthy of repeating and re-making. Ready?
These wonderful potatoes were posted on “Martinis & Bikinis” post with TEN delicious sides. Please check them out here.
Today, two more side dishes for you to consider on your menu! A gluten-free stuffing and Copper Pennies!
I’m not a huge carrot fan but this side dish is good; you par-cook the carrots so they aren’t crunchy and they are somewhat “pickled” in a very good way. I like them! Not everyone will – but if you have carrot lovers? I encourage you to at least try once. And, look how pretty they are:
Two printables for you!
Bon Appétite!
Yum! I’m one of those carrot lovers–I think I might give this a try before the Holidays! xo
I’m not a huge carrot eater? But these are one of my faves.
I definitely look more forward to the sides than the turkey! I do find what side I’m looking forward may change from year to year but sides and desserts is what I enjoy the most.
Joanne, me too!
