So, what exactly makes a perfect Christmas? I’ve experienced extreme Christmases that felt empty and I’ve experienced less-than Christmases that were perfectly perfect. I’m convinced it’s all in the recipe. I’m sharing a family secret today! The recipe for a Perfect Christmas!
Ingredients:
- People (these can be family, friends, perfect strangers, best is a mix of all three)
- A loving heart
- Some type of food (ranging from a broken loaf of bread to a full-on spread)
- Some type of beverage (anything liquid and edible)
- The Gift – there is no variation here, it is mandatory you use The Word of God, The Bible.
Directions:
- Gather
- Know when to chill out and warm up
- Keep your heart open and your mouth shut, this is not optional at times
- The food is secondary – but, it must be offered with peace and joy
- The beverage, again is secondary, but be sure it is love liquefied
- Open The Gift for all to see and hear and experience – better yet LIVE THE GIFT, and invite others to KNOW THE GIFT!
Christmas blessings to all of you.

Love these words!!! This is a great way to start my day!
May your Christmas be the most beautiful time of unwrapping the greatest gift of all – Jesus! Love you!
Mary, it was such fun and holy reverence writing them because it’s TRUTH!!! God bless you and yours this holy season! xo
Oh, Susan, this is the best recipe I have seen. I am lacking in a couple of areas but my abundance in different areas more than covers the gap. The GIFT is the most important part and He has so fully filled my heart these last few days.
YOU have been a special gift this year as well. I wish you and your family a VERY merry Christmas and I know 2016 is going to be significant as you continue to speak truth — kindly but firmly — to all of the women who are blessed to “meet” you.
Sweetness overload, Shelby. Much joy and love and hope to you this Christmas and in 2016.
Now this may be my most favorite recipe of yours so far! I am looking forward to whipping this recipe up in the coming days. Love you dear soul. Merry Christmas!
And, you have all the ingredients!!! Blessings to you my sweet friend.
Oh, I just love this! Thank you, Susan!
THANK YOU, Kathy!!!!

Thanks, HM!
Just made Aunt Terry’s pumpkin bread but your recipe today is even better! Thanks, Susan, & Merry Christmas!
Her pumpkin bread is definitely the best ever! Merry & Blessed Christmas, Cous’!
Merry Christmas. Yes, this is a great recipe for ample love and joy. May your season be blessed and full of Jesus’ love and grace. Thank you for encouraging my heart this morning.
Christmas blessings to you and yours, Kelly.
Wise words well worth heeding in this succinct recipe! I’ve already transgressed a direction or two but now I am more aware about restoring harmony, peace and love back to the celebrations. Thanks, Susan. Blessed to be your neighbour at Tell His Story today. Happy Christmas to you and yours! 🙂 x
Thanks for visiting, Joy. Transgressions are forgivable!
What a wonderful recipe. we need to lose all the expectations and external trappings of Christmas – and focus on what’s important: loved ones and Jesus.
Choosing the best part! Thanks for visiting, Kathryn.
Wonderful recipe. He is the perfect gift!
Merry Christmas!
So very perfect!
Your list of ingredients makes me think that you must know my kids! All I have to do to get the PARTY ON is to break out the fudge and the chex mix! These guys love to eat, and Christmas goodies are essential! So thankful for your ministry here. Glad to be getting acquainted through our blogs!
Michele! YES, I feel the same way!
Yep…I’m loving and following this recipe!
Good girl!!! xo
I love #4, “The food is secondary”. I love entertaining and feel God did give me the gift of hospitality. Initially, I ALWAYS worried about the food – is there enough, will everyone like it, etc. Eventually, I learned God blessed the conversation and really didn’t care much about what edibles I placed on the table. Thanks for this message. Merry Christmas!
Pam, me too! It’s all about the FELLOWSHIP and RELATIONSHIP.
I think a loving heart is one of the most crucial ingredients! We must do everything we can to not be a Grinch!! Merry Christmas, Susan!
Lauren, isn’t that the truth!!!
Beautiful recipe for a sweet Christmas! Feasting on the Bread of Life!
The Bread that is fresh continually!
Great advice- thanks for sharing. Will try to follow you recipe this Christmas.
Carly, I hope all of us do!
Gather is one of my favorite words, so I really like it in this context! 🙂 Merry Christmas, Susan. Thanks for faithfully linking up at #ThreeWordWednesday.

I love this and it was such a nice surprise. I thought I would be getting a cooking recipe. But, your family secret was much better.
Tricked you, did I??? CHRISTmas JOY! And we ALL have the secret!
