I’ll Show You Again

I'll Show You Again

I’ll Show You Again! I want to be perfectly honest with you – I am not the most patient of people. It frustrates me when people don’t “get it.” But, with great wisdom, and a truckload of grace, I must understand that some will never “get it.” And, the stories from the gospels about… [Read More]

October 11, 2017 by admin 44 Comments

It’s that time of year I get pensive, inward, quiet, reflective, meditative, and a bit disgruntled… Years ago this was my favorite week of the year – my happy birthday week – but when the five’s became sixes I didn’t like it so much! My friend, the man I work for, and I were talking… [Read More]

slave or servant

August 4, 2016 by admin 26 Comments

Slave: a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them. Servant: a devoted and helpful follower or supporter. I woke up early this morning, 4:30 a.m., I could tell I wasn’t going to be able to fall back to sleep but I laid there anyway for about 30 minutes. Sam was… [Read More]

taking the next thing to a whole new level

April 18, 2016 by admin 2 Comments

Years ago Elisabeth Elliot quoted a poem on her radio show that resonated with her listeners and changed the way women handled stresses in their day-to-day lives. The poem, “Do the Next Thing,” is penned by an unknown writer, yet the message has become universal. You can read the poem here. Ms. Elliot was no… [Read More]

does he know me?

January 13, 2016 by admin 48 Comments

I have ended many a blog post with a simple question, Do you know Him? For many months the Lord has been speaking to me and encouraging me to change that question a bit. Matthew 7.21-23 has been chasing me around and showing up in various and sundry places – when that happens I know… [Read More]

Kate said fix Today, I come to confess. Dun Dun D Kate said fix

Today, I come to confess.
Dun Dun Dun Dun…

I used to be a FIXER.

Family problems? Not to worry I will manage, manipulate, and fix it. The only problem? It gets expensive and very stressful.

Fixing is bad for your health.

I have learned

There is a Fixer better than myself. This Fixer can and will FIX anything and anyone IF you ask.
If you release.
If you give it up.
If you lay the object of fix on the altar of sacrifice.

Sometimes…

There is an immediate fix. Sometimes The Fixer will ask you to sit still and do nothing. Sometimes The Fixer will use you in the fix.
But THIS I know…

The Fixer really doesn’t need any help from me.

So, What Does One Do?

We pray and our prayers keep The Fixer involved, on the scene, and in the situation.

The Fixer

Do you know Him?

But may the God of all grace [THE FIXER], who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5.10-11

Who or what are YOU trying to fix? Give them/it to The Fixer!
