Dark:Thirty

November 8, 2017 by admin 55 Comments

With the onset of turning our clocks back and evenings becoming very long and very dark very early, I am inspired to share some thoughts on darkness Holy Spirit showed me nine years ago, October 2008. This will be my first-ever series on the blog. Today? Part one. Dark Places He has set me in… [Read More]

Photo: Cascades Waterfall, Blue Ridge Parkway, NC. By Tammi Bare Today’s scripture is special to me – Colossians 1.10 is my life verse! I have it memorized in the NKJV with a Susan twist but the NLT translation is quite lovely. Our “praying scripture” encompasses Colossians 1.10-12 Then the way _____ lives will always honor… [Read More]

Wanna Sow Some Good Seed?

July 5, 2017 by admin 12 Comments

I’ve been acquainted with this smiling face for almost twenty years. Erik Haviland, a friend of my “other son” Lane’s, was on my prayer list for months. A super talented, creative guy had everything going for him except one really important (said loosely) ‘thing.’ He didn’t have Jesus. So, Lane, and a group of pray-ers… [Read More]

Quietude June 25th, 2017

June 25, 2017 by admin 10 Comments

Photo Credit: Scott Webb Isaiah 26.3 was my mom’s life verse from the Old Testament and there’s no question it’s a good one, yet because of verse three I never paid too much attention to the “rest of the story” or chapter. Keeping scripture in context is key to proper understanding. The whole chapter is… [Read More]

Hezekiah became king when he was twenty-five years old and was king in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years. His mother was Abijah daughter of Zechariah. In God’s opinion he was a good king; he kept to the standards of his ancestor David. In the first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah, having first… [Read More]

quietude: august 21 2016

August 21, 2016 by admin 6 Comments

This past week found my kids and I on a very well-marked bicycle trail. There was never a question which way we should go. So unlike life. We see two, maybe more, paths and we wonder. When that happens? Run to God – Ask Him To make clear the path, or… Block the path. Then… [Read More]

exile

July 20, 2016 by admin 28 Comments

Can we talk? As I read through the Bible, chronologically, I have come to the pre-exile text. Y’all, it isn’t pretty. Rebellion Idol Worship Human Sacrifice Adultery Persecution People pollution Disruption of order Covenant violation Chaotic cities Riots in the streets Does this have a twinge of familiarity? God is giving His final decree to the world… [Read More]

This beautiful property belongs to our friends across the creek, I went over to check on things as they haven’t come up for their summer stay YET. You see, they have run into some setbacks in South Florida and their emotions have been like a yo-yo. Who of us isn’t subject to life’s disappointments? My… [Read More]

I finally wrote something today. I'm not one to ju I finally wrote something today. I'm not one to just write words for the sake of writing. They have to have meaning, purpose. These were inspired by my June discipline of reading 5 psalms a day. Way back at chapter 37 David penned some pretty profound do's and don't's. They have been simmering for a couple of weeks. They're ready now. Hopehearthome dot com.
