Five Minute Friday – TIME

January 8, 2021 by admin 28 Comments

Kate said TIME Yes, I’m entering the room singing… ♫ If I could put TIME in a bottle, wishes would always come true… ♫  (Jim Croce 1973) As you probably know, often the word prompt sparks a song in my mind and today it is Croce’s “Time In A Bottle.” I was 23 years old… [Read More]

A Moment in Time

We all experience them. Moments in time. A moment when a shift occurs. A change takes place. A decision is made. And, at that precise moment – everything changes. Several weeks ago, Kate of Five Minute Friday, announced the writing prompt “moment.” And, the crowd of writers began writing their five-minute essay on moment. It… [Read More]

the making and taking of time

What seems like eons ago, my now 19-year old granddaughter and I sat in the back seat of my son’s car and she read this portion of Ecclesiastes  aloud to me. I told her one day when Mimi went on to heaven, I wanted her to read this at my memorial. She said she would…. [Read More]

five minute friday: time

January 17, 2016 by admin 23 Comments

I missed the party Thursday night – we were in a hotel room in Lynchburg, Virginia and rather exhausted so instead of partying I watched multiple episodes of Flip Flop on HGTV as my daughter and grandson soundly slept. Where was Hannah, you ask? Spending her first night in her dorm room at Liberty University…. [Read More]

Kate said permission. Wow! What a word. I think I Kate said permission.

Wow! What a word. I think I will go “there.” That proverbial place one doesn’t like to venture. THERE.
But, I have permission!

God or man?

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the Name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to Him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4(NIV)

As a believer AND a follower of Christ – who grants me permission to do anything? With great discernment and faith, I trust my good, good Father to allow me or to withdraw me.

He Is My Guide

I will not listen to a government I do not trust. My peace comes from heavenly places and it gives me permission to say no to certain things. I follow man’s law regarding speed limits. I pay taxes. I don’t steal. But when it comes to my body?

The Temple of Holy Spirit?

I ask permission of Father. When He says yes or no I listen to His every word and reason.
Who gives you permission?
