One Word Review 2014-2018

December 27, 2018 by admin 20 Comments

Now, we should cover this entire graphic with an umbrella — with the word H O P E. I choose one-word’s for the year but my LIFE one-word is HOPE. God Himself gave it to me in late 2002 and I have never, ever turned it loose. You can read about that here. HOPE…because it… [Read More]

When More Is Too Much

May 17, 2017 by admin 64 Comments

Several weeks ago whenever I opened my email there were at least three or four emails encouraging me to buy the “bundle”. Now, for some of you that won’t make a lick of sense and for others you will know exactly what it is. I suppose this epistle is to those who know and for… [Read More]

Preaching To The Choir

March 15, 2017 by admin 40 Comments

Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.” Then he lay down and slept under the… [Read More]

Quietude: March 5 2017

March 5, 2017 by admin 6 Comments

When I think of March I think of wind. In the Bible wind is symbolic of God’s Holy Spirit. In Acts 2.1-4 we read: When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it… [Read More]

quietude: january 29 2017

The fifth and final Sonday of January 2017. I’m locking in this sufficient word – one #oneword2017 It’s been a month of quiet and rest – the calendar has been fairly sparse. Early to bed and sometimes late to rise! It is HIS GRACE that carries us. It is HIS SUFFICIENCY that sustains us. We… [Read More]

4th SONday of January (there is one more!) Are we postponing the joy? Are we resting in His sufficiency? Are we allowing HIM to be Enough? Are we listening for His voice as He says, “This is the way now walk in it?” Preaching to the choir in which we all sing. xo #oneword2017 #sufficient… [Read More]

quietude: January 15 2017

January 15, 2017 by admin 8 Comments

I am one of those people who believes every single word written in God’s Word! Some may say I’m naive. I hope no one would say I was foolish! If you dissect 2 Corinthians 9.8 then you will see: God is ABLE God MAKES Grace abounds There is GRACE FOR ME I can be sufficient… [Read More]

quietude: january 8 2017

January 8, 2017 by admin 10 Comments

My one word 2017 is sufficient so you may be seeing it here quite a bit. If “sufficient for the day is its own trouble” then God’s grace is more than sufficient to handle the trouble! Don’t postpone the JOY! xo And, yes, I am preaching to the choir! Matthew 6.34 2 Corinthians 12.9

Even retired, I love weekends. Sunny and warm for Even retired, I love weekends. Sunny and warm for us is a bonus! This particular weekend is sweet and sorrow mixed. We get to travel a couple of hours with Gracee in tow, Lowell gets to see his civil war armaments comrades, and we will have lots of time with favorite grandson, Simon. But, we also bear the sorrow of missing our friend, Jimmy Reavis, at his celebration of life. James left this earth on March 13th after a battle with cancer, chemo, and its horrid side effects. It's a weekend of hello's and good-bye's. Life is like that, isn't it? I'm so grateful for the Hope my faith provides. Cannot imagine a weekend like this without it. 💔 ❤️
