We Are Anchors

Hebrews 6.19

Remove the Mask I read a beautiful post this morning on a friend’s blog; a post from a woman who suffered a great depression due to many life-changes within a one-year period. It was a wide-open post – the writer left nothing out! She exposed herself! As I left a comment I found myself typing these… [Read More]

Once Upon A Time In A Land Not Far Away

July 31, 2019 by admin 38 Comments

Once upon a time in a land...

lived you… Wonderful, quirky, with hang-ups, with secrets, with insecurities, with successes, with failure, with fears…. YOU! Isn’t it the truth! I began watching some clips on TBN by Paul Young the author of The Shack, and other books. (I loved The Shack – no debate there.) He said something I haven’t been able to… [Read More]

Motherhood – Ruth Part Two

RUTH Part Two

A Spirit of Hope I want to share why I love the story of Ruth in the Old Testament book bearing her name. Ruth had an uncanny courage and a true spirit of hope. She refused to give up. Another reason? My daughter-in-law calls me her Naomi; wherever I go she wants to come along!!!… [Read More]

We want YOU!

We want YOU! I know just how you feel… Has anyone ever said that to you and you know darn well they don’t have a clue how you feel? Have you ever said that to someone without thinking I really don’t know how they feel. I’m here today to remind us to never say that to… [Read More]

Book Review: Remarkable Faith by Shauna Letellier

July 10, 2017 by admin 10 Comments

Remarkable Faith: When Jesus Marveled at Faith in Unremarkable People by Shauna Letellier My rating: 4 of 5 stars Shauna Letelleir weaves story between the lines of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and she does it very well. My favorite kind of story-telling. The gospel writers do a good job of documenting the miracles… [Read More]

31 Days in the Gospel of John

October 1, 2016 by admin 27 Comments

And, so it begins – Write 31 Days 2016! This past July I had it all planned and then God got bossy, as my friend Ms. K says, and changed it all up! Welcome to 31 Days in the Gospel of John. I believe we are going to fall in love with John because of… [Read More]

i love to tell a story

November 5, 2014 by admin 26 Comments

Before writing anything else I want to thank you for hanging in there with me during the month of October. The 31-day writing challenge was incredibly good for me. Much needed exercise for a writer! Writing those posts was a balm of Gilead to my soul. I remembered things the Lord had told me through the… [Read More]

a mistake turned to hope

August 8, 2014 by admin 6 Comments

It was a simple necklace I designed and had made – lots of them! The ops manager of the company helped me make a contact in China to have the necklace made and I received the shipment of 500 necklaces and the irony of it was the manufacturer could not assure me they did not… [Read More]

Kate said FRESH Here we go again! Adjective Adv Kate said FRESH

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
