Panoply – Prepare for Battle

May 22, 2018 by admin 20 Comments

We must be armed and prepared for battle!

pan·o·ply pan′əplē noun 1. a complete or impressive collection of things. 2. a splendid display. 3. historical literary use: a complete set of arms or suit of armor. Great word, isn’t it? Panoply. pan-uh-plee with the accent on the pan! Prayer is an all-efficient panoply*, a treasure undiminished, a mine which is never exhausted, a… [Read More]

Are You Sleeping With The Enemy?

April 5, 2017 by admin 38 Comments

A few weeks ago I was sweeping the kitchen floor – just the simplicity of that task soothed my funky, post-vacation soul that morning.  And as He does, He spoke to me – I told you about that here. As I swept this thought came to me: To know how to fight one must know who… [Read More]

who’s that walking on the treetops?

May 18, 2016 by admin 55 Comments

Last week my son brought a friend home for a couple of days – there’s a particular mountain he loves to climb when he’s here and wanted to share the view with her. We had dinner on the front porch and afterward they donned jackets and took off up the holler. Later I asked how… [Read More]

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
