Five Minute Friday – Right

August 14, 2020 by admin 20 Comments

FMF RIGHT

Kate said RIGHT It seems an easy word to write a five minute essay on, right? Hmm. It’s Never Wrong TO DO RIGHT! My two grandchildren, now 23 and 17, have heard that saying since they were wee children. “It’s never wrong to do right.” It’s always wrong to do wrong.” It is always right… [Read More]

The Sin of Indifference

My Confession Sunday morning found us seated in the living room ready for church. Most of you know we have been watching Elevation Church online ever since the C19 quarantine. I cannot express enough how much I have enjoyed Pastor Steven Furtick’s messages. I believe he has received a special anointing for such a time… [Read More]

How Can It Be So Wrong When It Feels So Right?

April 26, 2017 by admin 52 Comments

It was 1979. The phone rang. “Hello.” There was a pause and then the song, Reunited by Peaches and Herb, began to play. I stood there stunned. Willing myself to hang up but frozen and unable to move. Reunited, and it feels so good Reunited, ’cause we understood There’s one perfect fit And, sugar, this one… [Read More]

Hosea 14.1-3 I thought I was shock-proof but yesterday proved me wrong. I watched a newscast last night showing a Planned Parenthood executive eating lunch and talking about selling organs and body parts from aborted babies as though she was discussing the price of tomatoes on the open market. I almost gagged. Then, as it settled,… [Read More]

for this

It was Communion Sonday. The elements were placed neatly on the altar table. The message had been given. The piano was gently playing. “Now, take a few moments of personal reflection to confess and repent before we disperse the bread and wine.” Sinner me, I bowed my head. Immediately, recent “stuff” was revealed to me…. [Read More]

Even retired, I love weekends. Sunny and warm for Even retired, I love weekends. Sunny and warm for us is a bonus! This particular weekend is sweet and sorrow mixed. We get to travel a couple of hours with Gracee in tow, Lowell gets to see his civil war armaments comrades, and we will have lots of time with favorite grandson, Simon. But, we also bear the sorrow of missing our friend, Jimmy Reavis, at his celebration of life. James left this earth on March 13th after a battle with cancer, chemo, and its horrid side effects. It's a weekend of hello's and good-bye's. Life is like that, isn't it? I'm so grateful for the Hope my faith provides. Cannot imagine a weekend like this without it. 💔 ❤️
