Peace

December 14, 2021 by admin 17 Comments

The Power of Peace Raise your hand if you watched “Christmas with The Chosen.” Hands going up all over cyberspace! Was it not wonderful? We saw it in the theater and then we watched it again this past Sunday. I especially liked the Names of God segments. Lara Silva, the actress who plays Eden in… [Read More]

Ruth - Part One

The story begins with a bad decision A certain man of Bethlehem, Elimilech, his wife Naomi, and their two sons Mahlon and Chilion left Bethlehem, “the house of bread,” and moved to Moab because of a severe famine. God did NOT tell Elimilech to go – he got scared and went. While in Moab, his… [Read More]

exile

July 20, 2016 by admin 28 Comments

Can we talk? As I read through the Bible, chronologically, I have come to the pre-exile text. Y’all, it isn’t pretty. Rebellion Idol Worship Human Sacrifice Adultery Persecution People pollution Disruption of order Covenant violation Chaotic cities Riots in the streets Does this have a twinge of familiarity? God is giving His final decree to the world… [Read More]

red – the color of hope!

May 4, 2016 by admin 42 Comments

Why HOPE ? Because Hope Changes Everything! Most of you know my story of HOPE – how God dropped that word, that principle, His very own characteristic, deep within my soul in the year of 2002. If you aren’t familiar, read about it here. HOPE is as real as the air I breathe and today,… [Read More]

five minute friday: quiet

January 29, 2016 by admin 23 Comments

I was sitting in a waiting room yesterday afternoon and was checking newsfeeds and I saw a tweet from Kate Motaung with the hashtag, #fmfparty and she was asking for suggestions for the word prompt for the Five Minute Friday party later in the evening. I tweeted “persist”, she announced QUIET at the party I… [Read More]

the heartbreak of God

December 16, 2015 by admin 40 Comments

As you know I get all kinds of excited when Holy Spirit reveals thoughts and truths to me. Such a moment came Sonday morning in worship. We have to go way back to the beginning…as in Genesis. The Word is clear that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit were present… [Read More]

five minute friday: good

April 3, 2015 by admin 18 Comments

Here we are again, Friday. But, it’s not just any Friday – it is GOOD Friday. Kate Motaung chose just the right word prompt today for the writing challenge called Five Minute Friday: GOOD Let’s begin. I remember as a little girl wondering why “Good” Friday was good. The flogging of Jesus. The blood…. [Read More]

sealing the deal

May 7, 2014 by admin 20 Comments

I was scrolling through Facebook last week and I saw a different take on a quote I’ve heard for years. In the past I’ve heard it quoted as a “God-shaped hole” but the word vacuum conjured up a whole new mental picture for this over-active imagination of mine! I am thinking out loud on my… [Read More]

Vision Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. Vision
Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. In gardening we envision fresh salads, delicious el dante French green beans, and juicy tomato sandwiches. 🍅 As a writer my vision is legacy. My story is one of peaks and valleys, potholes and narrow paths. There are chapters of shame and there are chapters of victory. God has used every single jot and tittle for my good and His glory. See that stack of books on the shelf? That's VISION. That's LEGACY.

Commitment Gardening takes commitment.. if you're Commitment
Gardening takes commitment.. if you're not in it to win it there's no sense in starting. Writing takes the same commitment. Currently, I have a partially completed work in progress. It's called "my brother is a saint." Right now I'm in a season of 'dry' but I'm still committed. See the first picture? It is a photo of Civil War dated garlic. 32 years ago hubs dug up 5 cloves in a field in Harpersville Alabama known for its Civil War / slavery roots. He carefully propagated it and has shared bulbs with many gardeners. That is commitment. My work in progress will get completed - I am committed.

Routine Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Routine
Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Every morning Farmer Hubster walks around the garden pruning, dead-heading, tying, and all the things it takes to have an abundant harvest. Writing requires time spent in reading, research, and WRITING. A popular author once said, "if you want to be a writer then you must write something every day." I attempt to do that. I like the routine of writing ✍️. #hopewriterlife
