Book Review: Love Welcome Serve – a cookbook

November 13, 2017 by admin 2 Comments

Love Welcome Serve: Recipes that Gather and Give by Amy Nelson Hannon My rating: 5 of 5 stars “Recipes that GATHER & GIVE.” Love Welcome Serve by Amy Nelson Hannon is almost too pretty to leave open on the kitchen countertop, prey to drips and stains! Hannon, the owner of Euna Mae’s Kitchen Boutique, spills… [Read More]

Today, finally, it feels like soup weather! And, as I type, the featured soup is on the stovetop! Cannot wait until supper time. October marks the month of our mom’s passing. October 27th, 2012 she entered the gates of heaven and saw her Savior face-to-face. A happy day for her and a very sad day… [Read More]

Tasty Tuesday: July is all about QUINOA!

July 4, 2017 by admin 6 Comments

Quinoa, pronounced keen-wah, has great potential in the kitchen and in our day-to-day nutritional intake. I love it and use it a lot. It is good hot or cold and the secret is to add lots of great flavor to it with other ingredients. It is a protein champion. Tasty Tuesday is going to feature… [Read More]

Tasty Tuesday: Welcome Patti Krank

June 20, 2017 by admin 6 Comments

I met Patti at the ALLUME Writers Conference in October of 2015 – I liked her immediately. She is savvy, smart, and has a happy, contagious outlook! Her blog, OLD THINGS NEW, describes two things: 1. What Jesus does with us when He redeems us as His own; and, 2. Taking old ‘things’ and making… [Read More]

Summer hasn’t arrived yet but its warmth has! And, that means a cool kitchen and salads!!! This recipe was in my Country Door catalog and sounds like something we would like on a hot summer evening. Tasty Tuesday: Everyone Loves Marni’s Caesar Salad

May 9, 2017 by admin 3 Comments

We are the crunch family – we like crispy, crunchy food – not fried food, but crunchy! And, we eat a lot of greens: kale, Romaine, spinach, arugula, iceberg, spring mix – if it’s green and has a crunch? We eat it! A salad that is always requested is my daughter’s Caesar. In honor of… [Read More]

These were inspired by my June discipline of reading 5 psalms a day. Way back at chapter 37 David penned some pretty profound do's and don't's. They have been simmering for a couple of weeks. They're ready now. Hopehearthome dot com.
