Grace

January 11, 2022 by admin 16 Comments

Word of the Year Do you participate in a word of the year? Do you select it or do you let a word pick you! I am of the latter discipline. It’s a Holy Spirit thing. It is usual for a word or principle to start showing up in my readings around December 1. I… [Read More]

One Word 2021

January 5, 2021 by admin 30 Comments

One Word 2021 I’ve been doing this for years and I like the focus. Rarely do I choose the word, it usually chooses me. About three weeks ago during my personal time in the morning, STEADFAST jumped out at me. Two or three days later, SEEK jumped in my face. Both words are excellent, aren’t… [Read More]

One Word 2018- Update!

Reaping Hope!

Let us not become weary in doing the right thing because at the appointed time we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up. Galatians 6.9 (SMS translation) It’s no secret that we just sold our mountain/country home of 30 years – a home and acreage, which provided shelter and a safe place for… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: TRY

August 4, 2017 by admin 29 Comments

Okay, so what is it in the summer that closes my eyes at 9 p.m. Is it summertime or over-sixty-syndrome!!! But I do get up early – so that counts, right? Yesterday morning it was 3 a.m. Today I slept in…5 a.m. Five is the magic number on Friday’s because it’s FIVE MINUTE FRIDAY with… [Read More]

a little wonder to start the week!

January 12, 2015 by admin 14 Comments

My sweet friend, Alice, has been hanging out in the Old Testament book of Daniel for a long time and as soon as she heard about my “oneword-2015” she emailed me the scripture in the illustration below. It is actually a quote from king Nebuchadnezzar, you know the one…the king that called for the fiery-furnace extinguishing… [Read More]

wonder – confirmed!

January 6, 2015 by admin 22 Comments

There was no debating that WONDER was my oneword2015 – yet confirmation is always welcome! I am reading Brennan Manning’s Souvenirs of Solitude and chapter 4 nailed it! St. Augustine in his commentary on Psalm 148, “God is made manifest by the heavens and the earth,” asked, “Does God proclaim Himself in these wonders?” And… [Read More]

Hubs was tending his garden bed out in the corner of the common area and almost stepped on this Momma lake turtle, laying her eggs. He went away and returned hours later and found she had dampened the area and laid sticks on top! He framed it out in pic 3. 60 day incubation and then all those wee turtles will find their way back to the lake!!! How cool is that? #lakelife #tinyhousebiglife #fromfarmtoflat2tinyhouse
Yellow doors scream, "You are welcome here! Come i Yellow doors scream, "You are welcome here! Come in! Rest and peace are found within these doors!" 5 years ago this month we left this house, our home for 30 years. We raised one son here, and for A LOT of summers, the old squeaky screendoor opened and closed with the joy of grandkids. Fireflies, a front porch bat, pussycats, dogs, goats, turkeys, and oinkers grazed the 14 acres. The ring of a blacksmith's anvil clanged for years as my husband designed and created beautiful ironwork. The best goat cheese hung from cheesecloth in its kitchen. Puzzles took shape on the old dining table, and Mexican Train domino challenges snaked along its patina'd surface. Blueberries were picked. Grapes simmered and bubbled into homebrew! But seasons change. Kids grow and leave home. We grew and left. Happy memories. Love grew there, and for that, we are forever blessed. Sweet, sweet memories.
