five minute friday: quiet

January 29, 2016 by admin 23 Comments

I was sitting in a waiting room yesterday afternoon and was checking newsfeeds and I saw a tweet from Kate Motaung with the hashtag, #fmfparty and she was asking for suggestions for the word prompt for the Five Minute Friday party later in the evening. I tweeted “persist”, she announced QUIET at the party I… [Read More]

five minute friday: first

January 8, 2016 by admin 22 Comments

After a long Christmas and New Year’s break, the Five Minute Friday tribe partied last night. Everything went well – my tweetchat cooperated, the group was fantastic, albeit several of my faves were missing – overall it was super! Until Kate Motaung, our faithful host, gave the one-word prompt for our five minute free write…. [Read More]

five minute friday: dwell

November 20, 2015 by admin 26 Comments

Parties are a lot more fun when you know the people! Five Minute Friday Twitter parties are no different – the more people you know the better the party! For the past several months I’ve figured out an app for my Kindle and can sit up in bed and go to the weekly FMF party… [Read More]

five minute friday: same

September 11, 2015 by admin 21 Comments

I’m not entering the party singing George Jones this week – actually I didn’t even go to the party at Kate’s. We had Life Group here last night and, well, you know, clean up, dishes, tired, equals NO PARTYING! Let’s see what can be done with this week’s word prompt and free write. Unusual word…let’s give… [Read More]

fill me

January 8, 2014 by admin 23 Comments

I opened my new journal for 2014 (from Dayspring) and on the very first page it says: fill me. Being with You will fill me with joy. Psalm 16.11 And, here is my first journal entry of this brand new year. Dear 2014, Fill me! What a wonderful way to begin a new year. Fill me,… [Read More]

Kate said FRESH Here we go again! Adjective Adv Kate said FRESH

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
