five minute friday: cheer!

May 27, 2016 by admin 38 Comments

The room was crowded last night, I mean A LOT of people. The kind of party where I open the door and look around and say Hmm, who can I hang with? The I-just-wanna-go-home syndrome. But I persevered and found my familiar faces and hung close! Gayl, Tara, Kate, Andrew, Carol, thanks for letting me hang… [Read More]

five minute friday: expect

May 20, 2016 by admin 29 Comments

No party for me last night. The Five Minute Friday party went on without me! I have a very special house-guest and we watched the replay of Survivor – after a fun afternoon playing tourist in West Jefferson NC. I hadn’t taken on the role of tour guide in years and it was a pleasurable… [Read More]

five minute friday: grow

May 13, 2016 by admin 24 Comments

Fun at the party last night. By now, I know you know the party I’m talking about! Five Minute Friday Twitter Party with host Kate Motaung. Room was crowded last night. Canada, Australia, USA all represented well. Michigan, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, North Dakota, Tennessee, North Carolina accounted for! How small the world becomes when… [Read More]

five minute friday: miss

May 6, 2016 by admin 31 Comments

I’m not even sure there was a Five Minute Friday party last night. I poked my head in around 9 to see what was going on and to see if there was anything good to eat – but the room was almost empty. Seems everyone was super busy last night and they were bobbing in… [Read More]

five minute friday: pass

April 29, 2016 by admin 30 Comments

What do Gilmore Girls, West Wing, brownie-in-a-mug, hot fudge cake, and Thursday have in common? You guessed right! Five Minute Friday Party at Kate Motaung‘s place, well, she actually rents a room at Twitter.com – standing room only last night, I couldn’t keep up nor type fast enough to fully engage. It’s hard to come… [Read More]

five minute friday: united or untied

April 22, 2016 by admin 17 Comments

I went to the #fmfparty last night, but I was one-hundred percent wallflower. I.never.said.a.word. I was tired and lethargic. I waved from a distance but no one even noticed. Big wink inserted here. One thing about an online, Twitter party – you are totally invisible unless you type ‘hi’ and hit “tweet.” I didn’t wait… [Read More]

five minute friday: easy

April 15, 2016 by admin 27 Comments

Parties are fun, amen? Last night’s was no exception. It had all the right elements for a good time. Lots of people. Lots of conversation. Lots of craziness (who doesn’t need a little crazy on a Thursday night?). Our host, Kate Motaung, made a flash appearance then disappeared for a bit – she had Five… [Read More]

five minute friday: alive!

March 25, 2016 by admin 22 Comments

Last night’s Five Minute Friday was kind of weird for me. Lots of glitches. Tweetchat didn’t work right. My Kindle froze up. I was tired. Kate Motaung, our hostess, was missing in action and scheduled the word prompt announcement – what? Just kidding, Kate, hope you are having a wonderful unplugged time! I stayed around… [Read More]

Kate said fix Today, I come to confess. Dun Dun D Kate said fix

Today, I come to confess.
Dun Dun Dun Dun…

I used to be a FIXER.

Family problems? Not to worry I will manage, manipulate, and fix it. The only problem? It gets expensive and very stressful.

Fixing is bad for your health.

I have learned

There is a Fixer better than myself. This Fixer can and will FIX anything and anyone IF you ask.
If you release.
If you give it up.
If you lay the object of fix on the altar of sacrifice.

Sometimes…

There is an immediate fix. Sometimes The Fixer will ask you to sit still and do nothing. Sometimes The Fixer will use you in the fix.
But THIS I know…

The Fixer really doesn’t need any help from me.

So, What Does One Do?

We pray and our prayers keep The Fixer involved, on the scene, and in the situation.

The Fixer

Do you know Him?

But may the God of all grace [THE FIXER], who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5.10-11

Who or what are YOU trying to fix? Give them/it to The Fixer!
