Memories - hold some, let some go!

After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the… [Read More]

A Look Back At November 2017

December 6, 2017 by admin 28 Comments

Are you astonished that we are now in the final month of 2017? This has been quite a year and I am beginning to “look back.” I think it advantageous for each of us to do a review, of sorts, of our time. Last year I knew, with no shadow of doubt, that my ‘word’… [Read More]

A Look Back At October

November 1, 2017 by admin 28 Comments

I’ve decided not to do my L.I.S.T. for October – I want to reflect on a few things and who better to reflect with than you, my faithful readers and friends! October was a month of Learning, Inspiring, Soul-satisfying Things; however, I want to be a bit more serious about my sharing because it’s possible… [Read More]

These Halcyon Days

August 9, 2017 by admin 40 Comments

Memories, Musings, and Music

May 10, 2017 by admin 40 Comments

Mom’s Day 2017 I want to do something a bit different this year but as I sit here I’m not sure where my thoughts are headed. It may be a post of rambling and rabbit trails and if that’s how it turns out then that is where it is supposed to go. For some… [Read More]

our three-day, 1200 mile road trip

July 27, 2016 by admin 42 Comments

Several months ago I received an email from The Ark Encounter – inviting us to visit the new spectacle in northern Kentucky. Five years ago, we went to the phenomenal Creation Museum and loved it! That is when we learned that plans were being made to build a true-to-Biblical proportion replica of Noah’s ark. I… [Read More]

what i learned in may (2016)

June 2, 2016 by admin 21 Comments

I’m not even sure I learned one.single.thing. in May. Seriously. A lot of things happened in May – I just don’t think any of those happenings taught me anything. But, because I am committed to this exercise, I am getting my planner out and going through the month to double-check. If this gets lengthy, I’m… [Read More]

remnants

April 23, 2013 by admin 11 Comments

Last night I was home alone and had just finished mowing – mowing is no small feat in our yard. Lots of grass and three hills! One push mower & me – you get the picture! Well aside from that I was enjoying the fruit of my two day’s labor, putting some wind blown  branches… [Read More]

Kate said FRESH Here we go again! Adjective Adv Kate said FRESH

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
