Quarterly Report 2021 – Q3

September 28, 2021 by admin 10 Comments

Why a Quarterly Report If truth be told, and I am a truth agent, I do these for me.  I like to look back at the three months and take inventory, per se. But, this third quarter of 2021 was admittedly one of the worst periods of my life. I was quite unwell. July The… [Read More]

Quarterly Report – Q2 2021

July 6, 2021 by admin 16 Comments

Looking back through my planner I realize the second quarter of 2021 was a rough one for me. And, it all began with pollen! The Great Pollen Pandemic of 2021! It was thick, yellow, and extremely invasive! We had two great bouts with it – I think we won! April Always a busy month for… [Read More]

Taking A Look Q. What is your favorite thing about Spring? A.  It isn’t winter! That little joke is dedicated to my friend Anita in Arizona. She thought it was funny so I’m hoping you do too! Here, in Upstate South Carolina, winter was 365 days long. It came in cold and wet, and it… [Read More]

The Broken Record Is On Repeat

February 23, 2021 by admin 22 Comments

Hope On Repeat! Remember LP record albums? Yes, me too! And, how, if they had a flaw in the vinyl it would play on repeat? That’s how I feel about HOPE! Most of you know my story but in case you don’t, you can read that here. Hope IS What We Need Not wishing upon… [Read More]

Who?

February 2, 2021 by admin 16 Comments

Stay With Me If one man sins against another, God will judge him. But if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?” Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father… 1 Samuel 2.25 This scripture is pretty potent even if pulled out of context but in context? The end was not… [Read More]

Think It Not Strange!

September 29, 2020 by admin 28 Comments

STRANGE!

Finally brethren, and sistren too… do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you… 1 Peter 4.12-13 I’m glad I dress in the armor of God every day because the arrows of disagreement, criticism, and judgment have been flying at me in recent weeks. But they bounce right… [Read More]

Sitting Shiva

June 16, 2020 by admin 28 Comments

Grieving

Bearing One Another’s Grief “Sitting shiva” refers to the act of sitting on low stools during times of mourning. As mentioned in the Book of Job, upon mourning, Job’s friends “sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights”. (Wikipedia) I like the idea of this – I refer to it as… [Read More]

Vision Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. Vision
Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. In gardening we envision fresh salads, delicious el dante French green beans, and juicy tomato sandwiches. 🍅 As a writer my vision is legacy. My story is one of peaks and valleys, potholes and narrow paths. There are chapters of shame and there are chapters of victory. God has used every single jot and tittle for my good and His glory. See that stack of books on the shelf? That's VISION. That's LEGACY.

Commitment Gardening takes commitment.. if you're Commitment
Gardening takes commitment.. if you're not in it to win it there's no sense in starting. Writing takes the same commitment. Currently, I have a partially completed work in progress. It's called "my brother is a saint." Right now I'm in a season of 'dry' but I'm still committed. See the first picture? It is a photo of Civil War dated garlic. 32 years ago hubs dug up 5 cloves in a field in Harpersville Alabama known for its Civil War / slavery roots. He carefully propagated it and has shared bulbs with many gardeners. That is commitment. My work in progress will get completed - I am committed.

Routine Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Routine
Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Every morning Farmer Hubster walks around the garden pruning, dead-heading, tying, and all the things it takes to have an abundant harvest. Writing requires time spent in reading, research, and WRITING. A popular author once said, "if you want to be a writer then you must write something every day." I attempt to do that. I like the routine of writing ✍️. #hopewriterlife
