Kate said CHALLENGE

Kate said Challenge Mind is blank. I enjoy a good challenge; however, not when it comes to physical challenges. I am not a runner like my friend Anita. I am not a swimmer or a marathon walker – so please don’t challenge me with those things. But. I do like a challenge of words. Let’s… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday START

Kate said Start On your mark, get set, START! I like the word start. Just the sound of it represents something brand new. A new job A new school year A new project A new book A new bible study A new 31 day October challenge! START. Let’s get started. If STARTing is so exciting, and it… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: TESTIMONY

September 6, 2019 by admin 24 Comments

Kate said, TESTIMONY.

Kate said Testimony “Can I get a testimony?” You haven’t experienced a testimony service until you’ve sat in a country church in the Appalachian mountains. They are loud. They are dramatic. They are wet – because people are crying and sniffing and blowing their noses. And, they are hopeful. #hopechangeseverything Yes, I say this often… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: BACK

August 30, 2019 by admin 20 Comments

Five Minute Friday BACK

Kate said BACK I think Kate is picking words just for me recently!!! Doubtful, but they sure are appropriate. I never saw any of those horror movies but I do know that Freddie Krueger had a line somewhere saying, “I’m baaack!” So am I! I feel like I’m finally getting my mo-jo back after our… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: WILLING

July 12, 2019 by admin 23 Comments

Kate said willing Always best to stick with the first thought that pops into my head. So here goes… I’m praying for a certain someone to be smitten by the Lord Jesus. I’ve been asking my good, good Father to chase this person – to run him down and pursue him. That’s how I pray…. [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: TAKE

July 5, 2019 by admin 22 Comments

Kate said TAKE Funny, first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this word prompt was this song… You can’t always get what you want….You can’t always get what you want You can’t always get what you want You can’t always get what you want But if you try sometimes you might find… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: WORLD

June 28, 2019 by admin 24 Comments

Kate said WORLD So many choices with this word. John 3.16 God loved this WORLD so much that He sent His Son, His one and only Son to come into this world to redeem mankind. That through His death and resurrection people could believe and receive in faith and live eternally with God and His… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: QUESTION

June 21, 2019 by admin 16 Comments

Kate said Question

Kate said question Wow, what a word – I could just ask you a bunch of questions! And, hopefully, you would comment and tell me all the answers. LOL! But I won’t do that. Funny, right this minute I am texting with a co-worker and asking him where a place is here in Statesville. I… [Read More]

Kate said FRESH Here we go again! Adjective Adv Kate said FRESH

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
