Five Minute Friday: UNKNOWN

November 15, 2019 by admin 14 Comments

Unknown

Kate said UNKNOWN Nothing popped into my head this morning when I saw the word. Unknown conjures up (without looking at a dictionary): unfamiliar invisible without identity It was brought to my attention this week of a 23 yr old person who has no idea of who God is. God is unknown to this person…. [Read More]

Remember When?

Remember When?

Remember When? I was raised in a gospel-preaching, Bible-reading church. A fellowship of believers who spoke of and taught that Jesus would return to earth and take those that belonged to Him back to heaven for eternity. Belonging to Him meant one’s heart had been redeemed by the message of the cross. In other words,… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: SETTLE

November 8, 2019 by admin 23 Comments

Kate said SETTLE I wasn’t going to. I had no plan to find today’s five minute Friday word prompt but there it was in my email in-box. Kate is efficient in her leadership! And, I saw the word, “SETTLE!” And, instantly thought – that’s it – that is what I’m feeling. unSETTLEd Then this: But… [Read More]

On One Condition

On One Condition

Conditional Promises There are many conditional principles in life, aren’t there? IF we study properly and learn the material, we will pass the exam. IF we obey the traffic laws, we won’t get a ticket. Two things that are unconditional (off the top) are God’s love and parental love. There really isn’t much we can… [Read More]

Bible Review – Life Application Study Bible

November 1, 2019 by admin Leave a Comment

A Bible Review This is my second Bible review and it feels a tad more comfortable than the first one. The new Zondervan Life Application Study Bible was furnished to me by Bible Gateway, free of charge, in exchange for a fair review. My First Thoughts This is a hefty, beautiful book. The leather cover… [Read More]

Refuge of Rest

Read Part One here Read Part Two here The Rest of God Once you turn your worry into trust, then you enter into the rest of God. There is no better place for the believer to dwell than in HIS REST. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he/she who has… [Read More]

A Tower of Trust

Read Part 1 here So, how do you switch from a worry wart to a trusting tower? The Word. The Word. The Word. The Word. The secret is in the Word. We must stay in it. We must meditate on it, and not the cares of this world – because those cares? Will choke out… [Read More]

Worry Wart?

Pray, taking authority over every possible distraction. When we first moved to North Carolina we attended a church in our immediate neighborhood – it was there that I made a commitment to the Lord that I was no longer going to live “on the fence.” By that, I mean, one foot in the world and… [Read More]

Instagram post 2193140229115194451_3521265556 Kate said RUSH

Rushing is the one thing I did not want to do in this tiny house move. Rushing only brings negative results, in my humble opinion. I’ve also learned that rushing can be miles outside God’s good, acceptable, and perfect plan for our life.

Slow and steady wins the race – unless you’re an Olympic runner. And, most of us aren’t.

Is God into rushing?

I think not. I mean, after all, He is God and outside of time – He is behind the scenes YET, is the Center of it.

He is orchestrating every finite detail of my life, without rush. On the days I cry out to Him, “Com’on already Lord just do it!” He takes the slow and steady.

And then suddenly!

The day is here. The thing has happened. The life was changed. With no rush.

Days, months, maybe years of praying and believing – and then bam, it’s here.

Enjoy the process…

I want to take the time to enjoy the process. The thinking. The planning. The working. And, then sit back and enjoy the results. That’s how I work and at times I think that’s how our good, good Father works.

I want to enjoy the journey. I want to enjoy the hunt!

How about you? Turtle or rabbit?
