It’s That Time of Year Again!

October 26, 2021 by admin 12 Comments

Word of The Year Normally, this time of year I begin to listen for that whisper telling me what word I should meditate on in the coming new year. I haven’t quite gotten my 2022 marching orders yet – but I do know how last year’s word has been a soothing balm during these precarious… [Read More]

November 10, 2020 by admin 14 Comments

Noah – remember him? I think one of the saddest things in the Bible is this… And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and HE was grieved in HIS heart. Genesis 6.6 I mean, doesn’t that break your heart when you read that? The Flood Is Coming So, over… [Read More]

God's spirit is a Spirit of Grace

Spirit of Grace: God’s Spirit is a merciful spirit. Jesus accomplished the word of GRACE for us on the cross, but it is the Spirit who applies that grace to us by giving us faith.* The quiet hour of prayer is one of the most favorable opportunities He has in which to speak to us… [Read More]

A Faith Blogger’s Disclaimer

May 24, 2017 by admin 76 Comments

This was not supposed to be today’s post. I’ve had Wednesday’s, May 24th post penciled in my planner for three weeks. It’s a hard one to write and I know I’m supposed to write it because it was confirmed, first-hand, at the Dollar General this past Saturday morning. However, the Spirit of God dropped this… [Read More]

May 18, 2016 by admin 55 Comments

Last week my son brought a friend home for a couple of days – there’s a particular mountain he loves to climb when he’s here and wanted to share the view with her. We had dinner on the front porch and afterward they donned jackets and took off up the holler. Later I asked how… [Read More]

make the connection

April 15, 2015 by admin 15 Comments

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He [God] who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will… [Read More]

our helper not our do-er

February 21, 2012 by admin 2 Comments

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever…John 14:16 (NKJV) Those words are in red. That means God, with clothes on, said it Himself. He will send The Helper. Not The Do-er. How many times have we said: “I can’t.” “It’s too hard.”… [Read More]

I finally wrote something today. I'm not one to ju I finally wrote something today. I'm not one to just write words for the sake of writing. They have to have meaning, purpose. These were inspired by my June discipline of reading 5 psalms a day. Way back at chapter 37 David penned some pretty profound do's and don't's. They have been simmering for a couple of weeks. They're ready now. Hopehearthome dot com.
