Good Friday

Five Minute Friday: Gentle

April 2, 2021 by admin 14 Comments

Kate said gentle. Odd word for this Good Friday 2021. Gentle. One thing that pops into my mind is… The Romans were not gentle with Jesus the night of His arrest. The Price He Paid Was anything but gentle.  Jesus was brutally beat. … was heinously tortured. Jesus was pierced. He was humiliated. Yet, He went to… [Read More]

the cross

March 10, 2016 by admin 27 Comments

Have you been there? One simple question, “Have you been to the cross?” April is an amazing month. Two of my three children, and one son-in-love, were born in April and several close relatives. The world celebrates Earth Day this month (The earth is the Lord’s; and all its fullness, the world and those… [Read More]

five minute friday: good

April 3, 2015 by admin 18 Comments

Here we are again, Friday. But, it’s not just any Friday – it is GOOD Friday. Kate Motaung chose just the right word prompt today for the writing challenge called Five Minute Friday: GOOD Let’s begin. I remember as a little girl wondering why “Good” Friday was good. The flogging of Jesus. The blood…. [Read More]

The Day Death Died and Hope Was Born!

March 26, 2013 by admin 8 Comments

My daughter and I sat in the church building, we were visitors to hear my good friend from Indiana sing. The church’s announcements were flashing on the overhead and it caught my eye: “The Day Death Died”, it was the name of their cantata to be performed on Resurrection Sunday. I looked at my daughter… [Read More]

“Good” Friday

April 5, 2011 by admin 2 Comments

Years ago, Sharpshooter and I went to a Good Friday service at a church here in the county – I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was one of the most meaningful experiences in my God journey. Having been raised in a very legalistic, keep-God-in-a-box, non-denominational denomination, the only clear memories of Easter weekend… [Read More]

I finally wrote something today. I'm not one to ju I finally wrote something today. I'm not one to just write words for the sake of writing. They have to have meaning, purpose. These were inspired by my June discipline of reading 5 psalms a day. Way back at chapter 37 David penned some pretty profound do's and don't's. They have been simmering for a couple of weeks. They're ready now. Hopehearthome dot com.
