Why choose a one word? In 2003, after a tragic time in our family, and, after crying out to the Lord for months and months – He and His Holy Spirit dropped a word deep into my spirit and it took root and has been the lifeline of my existence. The word? HOPE. Now may… [Read More]

One Word 2021

January 5, 2021 by admin 30 Comments

One Word 2021 I’ve been doing this for years and I like the focus. Rarely do I choose the word, it usually chooses me. About three weeks ago during my personal time in the morning, STEADFAST jumped out at me. Two or three days later, SEEK jumped in my face. Both words are excellent, aren’t… [Read More]

Womanhood – Esther Part One

May 21, 2019 by admin 25 Comments

Esther - Part One

Esther, also known as Hadassah This past weekend we heard an extraordinary message at church. I think the title of it was, “The Pressure to Perform.” And, as I pondered which woman would be my next focus in this series, Queen Esther came to mind. Esther shows up in Biblical history approximately 465-475 B.C…. [Read More]

Vision Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. Vision
Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. In gardening we envision fresh salads, delicious el dante French green beans, and juicy tomato sandwiches. 🍅 As a writer my vision is legacy. My story is one of peaks and valleys, potholes and narrow paths. There are chapters of shame and there are chapters of victory. God has used every single jot and tittle for my good and His glory. See that stack of books on the shelf? That's VISION. That's LEGACY.

Commitment Gardening takes commitment.. if you're Commitment
Gardening takes commitment.. if you're not in it to win it there's no sense in starting. Writing takes the same commitment. Currently, I have a partially completed work in progress. It's called "my brother is a saint." Right now I'm in a season of 'dry' but I'm still committed. See the first picture? It is a photo of Civil War dated garlic. 32 years ago hubs dug up 5 cloves in a field in Harpersville Alabama known for its Civil War / slavery roots. He carefully propagated it and has shared bulbs with many gardeners. That is commitment. My work in progress will get completed - I am committed.

Routine Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Routine
Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Every morning Farmer Hubster walks around the garden pruning, dead-heading, tying, and all the things it takes to have an abundant harvest. Writing requires time spent in reading, research, and WRITING. A popular author once said, "if you want to be a writer then you must write something every day." I attempt to do that. I like the routine of writing ✍️. #hopewriterlife
