Five Minute Friday: NOW

April 3, 2020 by admin 16 Comments

NOW!

Kate said NOW I’m a now kind of gal. If I see it and it needs to be done? DO IT NOW. You see I learned that the hard way by being a procrastinator. But, one sweet day, God got right in my face and said NO MORE NEW PROJECTS UNTIL YOU GET ALL THE… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: Less

Five Minute Friday LESS

Kate said LESS This is a no-brainer for me. We just moved into a Tiny House, 399 square feet of living space. We have done two major downsizings since spring of 2018. First, from a small farm and huge woodworking shop to a 1200 square foot downtown flat and now to 399 squares! Talk about… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday – CULTURE

Kate said CULTURE

Kate said CULTURE \0/ I am entering the room singing, Red, and yellow, black, and white. All are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world. The World Our big, beautiful world is full of diverse cultures. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing several. I went to Cuba in 1999, on… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: BETTER

FMF BETTER

Kate said, “BETTER.” Good. Better. Best. I’ll do better next time. It’s better with butter on it. Everything’s betta with Feta! Odd word for the first prompt of the year. BETTER. I suppose I should think of what I want to do better in 2019, yet doing that puts a pile of expectation and guilt… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: LOVED

August 17, 2018 by admin 26 Comments

Five Minute Friday: LOVED

LOVED This week was a lesson in *thinking* of being UNloved. One of the worst feelings in the whole wide world. UN loved = U not loved Awful. I hate when “feelings” get in the way of truth. Truth trumps feelings.every.single.day.every.single.time. God’s Word tells us that Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear. Where does the… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: SECRET

Secret Five Minute Friday

Kate said, “SECRET.” I love this photograph – look at the little girl’s eyes! She seems to be delighting in her mom’s secret. I wonder what Mom is telling her. Don’t tell your brother but we are going to have a special girl’s day today. Shhh. You cannot say a word. It’s a secret between… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: OTHER

April 13, 2018 by admin 22 Comments

Kate said, “OTHER.” My routine wasn’t followed because I fell asleep very early last night. As the sun sank below the western mountains, my eyelids followed. There was no other thing to do but sleep. 00:00 Other – interesting word. To refer to someone or something as different or distinct from someone or something else;… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: AGREE

February 2, 2018 by admin 22 Comments

Kate said … Agree? And, I must agree, AGREE is a great word to write five minutes on. 00:00 This post will probably be all over the place. I am big on commitment. IF I agree to do something – I can just about promise I WILL DO IT. Now, if sickness or God forbid… [Read More]

Vision Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. Vision
Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. In gardening we envision fresh salads, delicious el dante French green beans, and juicy tomato sandwiches. 🍅 As a writer my vision is legacy. My story is one of peaks and valleys, potholes and narrow paths. There are chapters of shame and there are chapters of victory. God has used every single jot and tittle for my good and His glory. See that stack of books on the shelf? That's VISION. That's LEGACY.

Commitment Gardening takes commitment.. if you're Commitment
Gardening takes commitment.. if you're not in it to win it there's no sense in starting. Writing takes the same commitment. Currently, I have a partially completed work in progress. It's called "my brother is a saint." Right now I'm in a season of 'dry' but I'm still committed. See the first picture? It is a photo of Civil War dated garlic. 32 years ago hubs dug up 5 cloves in a field in Harpersville Alabama known for its Civil War / slavery roots. He carefully propagated it and has shared bulbs with many gardeners. That is commitment. My work in progress will get completed - I am committed.

Routine Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Routine
Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Every morning Farmer Hubster walks around the garden pruning, dead-heading, tying, and all the things it takes to have an abundant harvest. Writing requires time spent in reading, research, and WRITING. A popular author once said, "if you want to be a writer then you must write something every day." I attempt to do that. I like the routine of writing ✍️. #hopewriterlife
