Q2 - 2020

So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90.12 My Quarterly Report It’s time to look back at the last three months and see where and how I spent my time. April Rough month. Two weeks into Covid-19 stay-at-home orders and the world has gone nuts. After about three… [Read More]

When Friends Meet

When Friends Meet It had been on the calendar since before Christmas and finally the day was here. Three of my dearest friends were coming to the flat. Two had already seen our second-floor, downtown flat but one would be seeing it for the first time. I like to watch the reaction. #fromfarmtoflat We chatted… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: AGREE

February 2, 2018 by admin 22 Comments

Kate said … Agree? And, I must agree, AGREE is a great word to write five minutes on. 00:00 This post will probably be all over the place. I am big on commitment. IF I agree to do something – I can just about promise I WILL DO IT. Now, if sickness or God forbid… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: MOTIVATE

January 5, 2018 by admin 25 Comments

No party for me but Kate said… 00:00 It’s a question I’ve been asking myself ever since the big ball dropped Sonday night. Why do I write? Why do I do what I do? I search my heart and my mind, left or right side? Not sure. That left side with the logic and that… [Read More]

A Look Back At October

November 1, 2017 by admin 28 Comments

I’ve decided not to do my L.I.S.T. for October – I want to reflect on a few things and who better to reflect with than you, my faithful readers and friends! October was a month of Learning, Inspiring, Soul-satisfying Things; however, I want to be a bit more serious about my sharing because it’s possible… [Read More]

Reflections on October 2010

October 25, 2017 by admin 14 Comments

Yesterday I realized that there is but one week left to my favorite month of the entire year. October has been extremely memorable this year. Opening the month were my endearing moments with the ladder while Sharpshooter was away – and, cheering up a discouraged Sam. We weathered well with no lasting scars or emotional… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: WORK!

September 8, 2017 by admin 16 Comments

My mind is hard-pressed on Irma and Florida – where loved ones abound. Watching the cone; mapping the coordinates. Praying non-stop. Never saying amen. Nothing is taking precedence over this prayer and watch vigil. I peeked into the FMF party and sent blessings and a request to pray – these are true friends and I… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: PLACE

August 11, 2017 by admin 38 Comments

It was one of ‘those’ nights. I fell asleep too early and I was wide awake at 11 – the best thing for me to do when that happens is get out of bed, grab my Kindle and head for the living room and my chair. Shawl myself with the most delicious throw I found… [Read More]

Vision Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. Vision
Every gardener, every writer, has a vision. In gardening we envision fresh salads, delicious el dante French green beans, and juicy tomato sandwiches. 🍅 As a writer my vision is legacy. My story is one of peaks and valleys, potholes and narrow paths. There are chapters of shame and there are chapters of victory. God has used every single jot and tittle for my good and His glory. See that stack of books on the shelf? That's VISION. That's LEGACY.

Commitment Gardening takes commitment.. if you're Commitment
Gardening takes commitment.. if you're not in it to win it there's no sense in starting. Writing takes the same commitment. Currently, I have a partially completed work in progress. It's called "my brother is a saint." Right now I'm in a season of 'dry' but I'm still committed. See the first picture? It is a photo of Civil War dated garlic. 32 years ago hubs dug up 5 cloves in a field in Harpersville Alabama known for its Civil War / slavery roots. He carefully propagated it and has shared bulbs with many gardeners. That is commitment. My work in progress will get completed - I am committed.

Routine Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Routine
Writing, like gardening, requires routine. Every morning Farmer Hubster walks around the garden pruning, dead-heading, tying, and all the things it takes to have an abundant harvest. Writing requires time spent in reading, research, and WRITING. A popular author once said, "if you want to be a writer then you must write something every day." I attempt to do that. I like the routine of writing ✍️. #hopewriterlife
