Five Minute Friday: BALANCE

December 7, 2018 by admin 18 Comments

Kate said, “Balance.” I have long loved the word, “Balance.” I love the concept of balance. I believe it is the building block of peace and, perhaps even success. One cannot be too heavy in one thing and too scarce in another. One needs to be balanced. How does a believer exercise balance in her… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: MOMENT

October 26, 2018 by admin 22 Comments

You know the one - that moment

Kate said, “Moment.” I’m walking into the room singing \o/ This magic moment, so different and so new Was like any other until I kissed you And then it happened, it took me by surprise I knew that you felt it too, by the look in your eyes Sweeter than wine Softer than the summer… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: POTENTIAL

September 28, 2018 by admin 18 Comments

FMF. Potential. What's mine?

Kate said, “POTENTIAL.” Tricky word, potential. We all have it. But we all don’t use it. As I went through the clicks to get here and begin typing my mind was processing the word. I don’t allow myself to mull over it overnight – like an aged apple cider. I want the words fresh pressed…. [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: TURN

April 20, 2018 by admin 8 Comments

Kate said, “TURN.” 00:00 A series of essayettes! Turn your life around. There are times when God comes in and holds that stop sign or perhaps a yield sign and so loudly you hear Him say, IT IS TIME YOU TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND. You can read about that here. *** God allow U-TURNS. Yes,… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: OTHER

April 13, 2018 by admin 22 Comments

Kate said, “OTHER.” My routine wasn’t followed because I fell asleep very early last night. As the sun sank below the western mountains, my eyelids followed. There was no other thing to do but sleep. 00:00 Other – interesting word. To refer to someone or something as different or distinct from someone or something else;… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: TIRED

March 9, 2018 by admin 22 Comments

00:00 Kate said TIRED. Funny, just the word makes me tired and I woke up this morning at 5 a.m. to howling wind and my first thought was… I’m tired and want to go back to sleep. I laid there and thought about this word and couldn’t think of anything positive to say. Because I… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: WHY

February 16, 2018 by admin 20 Comments

Kate said, or perhaps, asked… 00:00 WHY? The answer to the question, “Why?” In light of this week’s horrific events is… the same answer to Job’s display of grief in his OT book… We live in a fallen world. “Think it not strange these fiery trials….” (1 Peter 4) This living is not going to… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: INTENTIONAL

January 19, 2018 by admin 26 Comments

That Kate…she is so prompt, at 9:45 p.m. eastern time she gave the call… I wasn’t asleep but alas, this girl does not write at 10 o’clock for anything… 00:00 INTENTIONAL is such a buzz word – “be intentional,” “do it with intention,” “I want to be intentional with my time.” And the catch phrases… [Read More]

So, this happened yesterday at home. Hubs was tend So, this happened yesterday at home. Hubs was tending his garden bed out in the corner of the common area and almost stepped on this Momma lake turtle, laying her eggs. He went away and returned hours later and found she had dampened the area and laid sticks on top! He framed it out in pic 3. 60 day incubation and then all those wee turtles will find their way back to the lake!!! How cool is that? #lakelife #tinyhousebiglife #fromfarmtoflat2tinyhouse
Yellow doors scream, "You are welcome here! Come i Yellow doors scream, "You are welcome here! Come in! Rest and peace are found within these doors!" 5 years ago this month we left this house, our home for 30 years. We raised one son here, and for A LOT of summers, the old squeaky screendoor opened and closed with the joy of grandkids. Fireflies, a front porch bat, pussycats, dogs, goats, turkeys, and oinkers grazed the 14 acres. The ring of a blacksmith's anvil clanged for years as my husband designed and created beautiful ironwork. The best goat cheese hung from cheesecloth in its kitchen. Puzzles took shape on the old dining table, and Mexican Train domino challenges snaked along its patina'd surface. Blueberries were picked. Grapes simmered and bubbled into homebrew! But seasons change. Kids grow and leave home. We grew and left. Happy memories. Love grew there, and for that, we are forever blessed. Sweet, sweet memories.
