I Always Go Back To Hope!

April 3, 2023 by admin 16 Comments

I’m Stuck On Hope! I do love the Season of Resurrection Hope – aka Easter! Nothing speaks Hope like an empty tomb. On Friday this week, we will grieve. On Saturday, we are quiet and pensive. On Sunday morning, we celebrate. Jesus is alive and well and sits on high in Heaven. What a glorious… [Read More]

Sitting Shiva

Grieving

Bearing One Another’s Grief “Sitting shiva” refers to the act of sitting on low stools during times of mourning. As mentioned in the Book of Job, upon mourning, Job’s friends “sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights”. (Wikipedia) I like the idea of this – I refer to it as… [Read More]

Spoiler Alert!

March 28, 2018 by admin 28 Comments

Spoiler Alert! Several weeks ago I began seeing some advertising on Instagram for tee’s with this on it: Spoiler Alert – the tomb was empty! I like that. Actually, I love that. It is the foundational Truth my faith is built on. We do not have a Redeemer who is in a tomb. We do… [Read More]

R.I.P. Rest In Peace I have had this on my mind for over a month, well over a month actually. What does it mean to “rest in peace”? We hear people say it; see it posted on Facebook when someone passes away; and perhaps we even say it ourselves. As a born-anew believer in God… [Read More]

one more thing about my mother

January 10, 2013 by admin 16 Comments

Our mom went to heaven on October 27 and the two weeks following, my sister and I were in a whirlwind to clean out her one-bedroom apartment in order to turn the keys in to management. As we went through boxes, drawers, and closets we were saddened by the realization that our mother had nothing… [Read More]

Hubs was tending his garden bed out in the corner of the common area and almost stepped on this Momma lake turtle, laying her eggs. He went away and returned hours later and found she had dampened the area and laid sticks on top! He framed it out in pic 3. 60 day incubation and then all those wee turtles will find their way back to the lake!!! How cool is that? #lakelife #tinyhousebiglife #fromfarmtoflat2tinyhouse
Yellow doors scream, "You are welcome here! Come i Yellow doors scream, "You are welcome here! Come in! Rest and peace are found within these doors!" 5 years ago this month we left this house, our home for 30 years. We raised one son here, and for A LOT of summers, the old squeaky screendoor opened and closed with the joy of grandkids. Fireflies, a front porch bat, pussycats, dogs, goats, turkeys, and oinkers grazed the 14 acres. The ring of a blacksmith's anvil clanged for years as my husband designed and created beautiful ironwork. The best goat cheese hung from cheesecloth in its kitchen. Puzzles took shape on the old dining table, and Mexican Train domino challenges snaked along its patina'd surface. Blueberries were picked. Grapes simmered and bubbled into homebrew! But seasons change. Kids grow and leave home. We grew and left. Happy memories. Love grew there, and for that, we are forever blessed. Sweet, sweet memories.
