Five Minute Friday: SPEAK

August 18, 2017 by admin 32 Comments

I did do a stealth drop-in last night to the Five Minute Friday crowd – no one knew I was there and I did see several familiar faces and a whole lot of new ones. One knows something is healthy when it grows and attracts new – this is a very good thing. Kate was… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday: PLACE

August 11, 2017 by admin 38 Comments

It was one of ‘those’ nights. I fell asleep too early and I was wide awake at 11 – the best thing for me to do when that happens is get out of bed, grab my Kindle and head for the living room and my chair. Shawl myself with the most delicious throw I found… [Read More]

Street Smarts from Proverbs: How to Navigate Through Conflict to Community by Mitch Kruse My rating: 5 of 5 stars I love the book of Proverbs – so much so that I also wrote a book on it! It is the book in the Old Testament chock full of wisdom and so much more. Kruse… [Read More]

the joy of the lord

June 6, 2014 by admin 11 Comments

is my Strength! My husband and I have put our mini-farm on the market…again! We did this once before in 2005 and the Lord did not sell it. Our plans to move back to Florida were thwarted; however, it has become very apparent that it was not God’s good acceptable and perfect will for our… [Read More]

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
