Dark:Thirty

November 8, 2017 by admin 55 Comments

With the onset of turning our clocks back and evenings becoming very long and very dark very early, I am inspired to share some thoughts on darkness Holy Spirit showed me nine years ago, October 2008. This will be my first-ever series on the blog. Today? Part one. Dark Places He has set me in… [Read More]

who’s that walking on the treetops?

May 18, 2016 by admin 55 Comments

Last week my son brought a friend home for a couple of days – there’s a particular mountain he loves to climb when he’s here and wanted to share the view with her. We had dinner on the front porch and afterward they donned jackets and took off up the holler. Later I asked how… [Read More]

What did I learn in July? This month has zoomed by – not one entry in my journal but I know I learned a few things! Emily Freeman has her linkup posted and it is helpful to write these things down. I will attempt to summarize my July! If you know me well, you know… [Read More]

i believe

February 18, 2015 by admin 21 Comments

Dearest One, There is a fire burning inside of me. Words that must be written down; however, I don’t know where to begin. An image has engraved itself on my heart – 21 men walking down a beach. All orchestrated as though it was a Hollywood production – to send a message to the “Cross-bearers”… [Read More]

August 13, 2014 by admin 34 Comments

This post is for me. But, as they say, if the shoe fits… Do you ever feel like the world’s biggest hypocrite? I confess, I do. Do I really believe… that God can heal chronic pain and illness? that God can restore broken marriages? that God can quiet the wind? that God can save… [Read More]

Kate said FRESH Here we go again! Adjective Adv Kate said FRESH

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
