Abortion

Who?

February 2, 2021 by admin 16 Comments

Stay With Me If one man sins against another, God will judge him. But if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?” Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father… 1 Samuel 2.25 This scripture is pretty potent even if pulled out of context but in context? The end was not… [Read More]

Have I?

January 26, 2021 by admin 26 Comments

It stopped me in my scroll! My friend Kathy in Indiana posted this scripture in her Facebook feed a week or so ago. I read it and then had to go back to it. Then, I had to get out my falling apart Bible and look it up. Being a truth agent, how on earth… [Read More]

Making the Choice

Making the Choice

Making the Choice Last week here on the main page I shared about “almost” having an abortion in 1977. Thank you for the generous and kind comments. I know there are some whose almost was “I did,” and today I’m sharing two stories of adoption and counsel from a former Pregnancy Care Center Director. I… [Read More]

Abortion – I (almost) had one

February 5, 2019 by admin 42 Comments

I (almost) had an abortion

Abortion, Dates, and Choices On January 22nd, 1973 the Supreme Court of the United States, Roe vs. Wade decision which legalized abortion, was made law. On January 19th, 1977 it snowed in South Florida. On March 10th, 1977 I became pregnant with my third child. April 1977 Only my obstetrician knew my thoughts at the… [Read More]

it’s all good – or, is it?

August 5, 2015 by admin 24 Comments

Isaiah 5.20 Funny how sayings get started and then suddenly everyone is using them. You hear them on talk shows, late night entertainers say them – they become part of the culture (almost). No big deal. Livin’ the dream. Not to worry. It is what it is. Deal with it. Build a bridge. Get over… [Read More]

corporate confession

July 15, 2015 by admin 20 Comments

Hosea 14.1-3 I thought I was shock-proof but yesterday proved me wrong. I watched a newscast last night showing a Planned Parenthood executive eating lunch and talking about selling organs and body parts from aborted babies as though she was discussing the price of tomatoes on the open market. I almost gagged. Then, as it settled,… [Read More]

hope for the unborn

September 21, 2011 by admin 2 Comments

Many years ago while at a Writers Conference in Asheville NC, I sat in a workshop on jewelry/greeting card design and as my creative wheels were turning I doodled the design you see in the picture. During that season in my life, I served on the Board of Directors of our local Pregnancy Care… [Read More]

Kate said green I am entering the room reciting a Kate said green

I am entering the room reciting a poem – one of my favorite reads when my children were small. Ready?

Green eggs and ham? I do not Like them, Sam-I-am. Could you, would you, With a goat? I would not, Could not. With a goat! Would you, could you, On a boat? I could not, would not, on a boat. I will not, will not, with a goat. I will not eat them in the rain. I will not eat them on a train. Not in the dark! Not in a tree! – Dr. Seuss

What a cynical world we live in. I will never stop quoting Dr. Seuss. And, if I ever have another grandchild? They will be read the wonderful lyrics of Dr. Seuss.

Green

I happen to like the color green – for me it represents life and growth. Green grass. Green trees. Green turtles. Each filled with life. I like green. It’s my cousin’s favorite color. Her family home was full of green!

Green Hope

And, I will end my five minute essay with “MY” verse. The HOPE verse that changed me. It’s from the Message translation…

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope! Romans 15.13

What does green conjure up in you?
