R.I.P. Rest In Peace
I have had this on my mind for over a month, well over a month actually. What does it mean to “rest in peace”? We hear people say it; see it posted on Facebook when someone passes away; and perhaps we even say it ourselves.
As a born-anew believer in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, I know when I breathe my last breath that I will “rest WITH Peace” – the Prince of Peace, for all eternity. But, today, in this writing I must send out an alarm. For those whose hearts have not been washed clean by the atoning blood of Christ’s death on Calvary’s cross – they will NOT rest in peace. Rather, they will be in an eternal state of unrest and torment. It is a personal choice – a personal decision.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son and whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life – they will rest in peace. John 3.16, my paraphrase.
xo Until next Wednesday!
