Rest
Our God is a God of rest.
In Genesis, He created for six days and then He declared a “national” day of rest.
In Matthew 11.29 He tells us that WE CAN FIND REST.
I know God’s love for us is unconditional – no argument there; however, most of His promises are conditional. Let’s take a look at a few:
“If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the LORD, who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.” Psalm 91:9-10
If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land…” Isaiah 1:19
Jesus said: “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22
If you love Me, obey My commandments. John 14.15
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10.9
And, if we want TRUE REST? We have to meet some conditions! We have to be yoked with Christ and we must allow Him to teach us.
In other words we don’t have to know-it-all!
The two questions to ponder today are:
With whom are we yoked?
Are we teachable?

The quiet hour of prayer is one of the most favorable opportunities He has in which to speak to us seriously. In quietude and solitude before the face of God our souls can hear better than at any other time. O.Hallesby
When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? Job 34.29
Thank you for sharing this honey. Sometimes we feel guilty for taking some time to rest, but it’s from Our Lord. A precious blessing from him to us.
Sabbath rest! 🙂
Love my Sabbath Saturday rest!

AMEN! Blessings!
I love this, “we don’t have to know-it-all!” What a freeing statement. I know that when I’m really honest, I must say to Jesus that I really don’t know how to “rest” in the best way possible. But He wants to teach me! I needed this today!
My favorite piece of this whole thing? That we don’t have to know it all today. We can rest in Him! Love this – thank you.
I agree that once we take up Jesus’ yoke which is following the instructions He gives us for living, then we can rest because we have done what is expected of us. Thank you for sharing.
