Who doesn’t like the 4th of July! America is 241-years old on Tuesday and we need to be waving flags, lighting sparklers, shouting happy birthday because we get to live here. We get to live in a free country that has been so graced and blessed by Almighty God that we should be on our knees for this land every.single.day.
As much freedom as this country affords us – we can experience freedom with no boundaries, no limits, through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son. His freedom is eternal. His freedom enables us to do things others won’t even consider because we know regardless of the danger or peril or threatening nature, we are held by His grip and can rest in His everlasting arms no matter what happens.
Now, THAT is freedom!
And, THAT is what I want to celebrate today!
Happy Birthday, America!
The quiet hour of prayer is one of the most favorable opportunities He has in which to speak to us seriously. In quietude and solitude before the face of God our souls can hear better than at any other time. O.Hallesby
When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? Job 34.29
