Happy Birthday! HM, cousin Robyn, me, Mike S, Peggy, and Tony! Whew – October is our official birthday busy month! Good things happened in the tenth month of 2019.
- Hannah rented her very own apartment!
- We bought a tiny house!
- We began our final downsizing efforts.
- A short road trip for hubs, to FL.
- The Shipe cousins reunion in Conway, SC.
- Several fun trips to IKEA!
Hannah’s first “flat.” So typical South FL!!!
Our Tiny House will be situated right here!
We gave our iron bed frame to son, Michael. Lowell made it in 1984 and it gave us years of sleeping comfort! Pinterest has some great tiny house ideas – Kallax cubby shelves made a wonderful bed frame with lots of storage! (This photo is in the apt not the tiny house.)
November was a blur. I shred 300 pounds of paper – this time the downsizing was “serious.” None of the I can do it later excuses I used when we moved #fromfarmtoflat!!! It became “now or never.”
On the 5th we decided to move Gracee to Greer SC. She is covered and secured at a gated storage lot!
We got word on November 15th that our tiny house would be delivered the next day, the 16th. Nothing would have kept us from that! We drove both vehicles to Greer with the intention to leave the sedan at the tiny house village.
We went to a home center and bought the step ladder so we could get in and check it out!
We had a few unexpected, yet great surprises. We loved everything and could not wait to call her home.
Thanksgiving came and as usual we had a wonderful day. Two new faces at our banquet table! Food was fabulous. Fellowship double fabulous!
As we say, “The whole fam damily!!!” Minus a few, plus a few! Simon, is now the tallest member of our family – almost 6’4″.
The next day was moving day!
Leaving the flat! #fromfarmtoflat2tinyhouse
The moving crew – minus a few.
Our new mat!
We had so many projects and so many boxes. We began doing the next thing and at this writing, all the projects are complete. Lowell’s he-shed will be built soon – and he will be as happy as a lark!!!
A sampling of Tiny House!
We traveled to Statesville to be with family. Hannah drove up for the holiday too!
The best part of any holiday is these two!!!
And, finally some random Tiny House pictures:
The loft! It is as cozy as it looks too!
2019 is in the books – what a year! My 2019 word was “favor” and the favor of the Lord was a shield around us, every step of every day. His loving-kindness has been extravagant to us and we walk around exclaiming how grateful we are. Never for a second do we take this good life for granted. Dear friends have lost spouses this past year and we have friends and family members getting unfavorable reports regarding their health – we take each and every day as a gift and we give all praise to our good, good Father.
I pray each of you have a blessed, safe, healthy New Year. 2020 – a whole new decade is before us. I know my hopes and dreams for it and ask the Lord to give ear to my prayers for the year, our family, our friends, our loved-ones, and YOU!
