Quarterly Report – 4th Q 2020

December 29, 2020 by admin 16 Comments

October 2020

October was a good month – I think partly because it’s my birthday month! My favorite color is OCTOBER!

Our son and girlfriend came and stayed with us for a few days as they explored the area around Upstate SC. While they were here, the tiny house village had a Low Country Boil on the 14th. It was great fun and delicious.

And, while Michael and Tiana were here we took them to one of our favorite places.

And, we went to Pretty Place:

Late October we went to Lowell’s annual cousins reunion in Conway, SC. Not one photo was taken. I know, right?

November 2020

We voted. Met our neighbors at the polls on a  very cold morning.

We celebrated 38 years together! (Old collage below!)

I decorated for Christmas earlier than I ever have! Of course in tiny house, it doesn’t take much!

And, we went to Lake Worth, FL for an epic Thanksgiving weekend.

We had 21 people for dinner in our Airbnb. Everyone was safe and stayed healthy. We had a wonderful time!

And, what would Thanksgiving be, in South Florida, without an Iguana on the wires?

December 2020

Tiny House Village had a Progressive Cocktail Party, without the cocktails!!!

Our home!

The ugly sweater winners. Lowell & Karen

The whole gang!

We had some beautiful sunrises and we went out in search of the Christmas Star (we did see it!).

Lowell & I ended December with a Christmas weekend trip to Hunting Island State Park. We loaded up Gracee and went for a 6 hour road trip. It was a wonderful weekend! We ate at Huddle House for Christmas Brunch and both got stomach aches!!!! But that only lasted a few hours. The rest of the time was great!

2020 has ended and it surely has been a year for the books. I’m gladly saying good-bye to you, 2020. Abundance was my one-word 2020 and the Lord abundantly blessed us every day of the year. We have stayed healthy. We have traveled a bit. We have made new friends and welcomed new neighbors. Has our family suffered losses? Yes, we have – but The King of Glory has been faithful and we are grateful that He reigns over our family.

Now, we welcome 2021 – I have a feeling it will be another year for the books! I am walking into it with trepidation and a whole lot of prayer. I have chosen a One Word 2021 – it is a call for action on my part and I plan on being faithful to that call. I’ll reveal my word next week.

See you next year! xo

Quarterly Report – the final quarter of 2020. O! What a year it has been.

    “2020’s Lament”

    I started with such promise,
such boons to bring your way,
but did not see the dramas
that would make you curse my stay.
    I planned for you Olympics
    and economic growth,
but it was the devil’s tricks
    that nullified them both.
Still, I did my very best
to bring you days you’d treasure
and for all the wretched rest,
I ask that you not measure
my short sad life with angry eyes
as we say our last goodbyes.

Loved all the photos, The tiny house community get together sounds so nice. Hope is my word for 2021, that we continue with the hope that people will find Jesus n that we all as a nation find harmony. Love and light.

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
