Peace – Jesus Has Come!

December 22, 2020 by admin 16 Comments

Peace Has Come At Last

Mandatory vaccines. Fraudulent elections. Crooked politicians. Russian Collusion.

Anything but peace, eh?

What a time to be alive. My grandma Emily was sure she would witness Jesus coming in the clouds of Glory and taking her home to heaven. Her body failed her and she died of natural causes at 79 years old. My mom made her way to heaven at 86. I am 70 years old and I am (almost) certain I will be one of the raptured!

But, alas, we do not know – do we?

How Do We Live In Peace In Such a Turbulent World?

Well, it isn’t easy – so if you are having a hard time maintaining your peace, you are not alone. The club is huge.

Forget world peace if we can just have inner peace, we would have a lot. So, how do we go about that?

For me, I have learned to stay in a constant stance of prayer. I never say amen. Every breath I take I take to the glory of God. I whisper the name of Jesus at least 999 times each day. His name is ever on my lips!

Does that sound as though I live in La-La Land? Because I don’t – I have the most practical outlook on life and living as anyone I know.  And, I know that nothing takes God by surprise. He already knows about all of it.

Let’s Get The Bible Out

And, brush up on some peace scriptures. Ready?

So Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it The-LORD–Is-Peace. Judges 6.24

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9.6

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26.3-4

This One [the Messiah] shall be our peace.  Micah 5.5

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14.27

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation…Ephesians 2.14

These are just a few of many Bible verses on peace – do you have a favorite? A go-to? Mine is Isaiah 26.3. All I have to do is “fix” my mind on the Lord and He will keep me in perfect Shalom – peace! I think that’s why I keep His name ever on my lips!

Lying In The Manger

A wee baby, wrapped in rags, surrounded by barnyard animals, sung to by dirty old shepherds – being cared for by a very young Mother and a man not His birth father – a baby who is our Prince of Peace.

A baby who grew up and hung on a wooden cross for the sins of the world – for my sin and yours – The Sacrificial Lamb. One who never said a word nor put up a fight. Soon, our Prince of Peace will return to this earth as the Mighty Lion of Judah and will deliver us to eternal peace.

From Cradle to King of Glory

I pray you know Him and His peace this holy Christmas Season.

Our Peace Has Come! The Advent of Christ. #bgbg2

Isaiah 26:3 is one of my favorite scriptures on peace as well. Thankful that our inner peace can go deeper than outward circumstances! Have a Merry Christmas, Susan!

Great reminder. I celebrated Christmas last weekend. I am preparing for numerous family celebrations on both sides. I am angry about all of the thousands of witnesses who swore under oath to tell the truth, who witnessed fraud Nd illegal activities in this last election, and mainstream news and Fox News said there was no fraud in this election, it makes my blood boil. But I can have peace knowing and trusting a Sovereign God who is still on His throne and still in control. I need to renew myself every morning and all day long through prayer and Bible study. Thank you for your wise and calmness ng words.

‘And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’ – Philippians 4:7 – that’s my favourite scripture on peace. Merry Christmas to you and yours Susan!

    Susan,
As I see the Chinese government ramping up (kings from the east) and Israel’s government staggering, and just what all is happening in our world, I am on the “we’re going to be raptured “soon” bandwaggon” too! Come Lord Jesus. Thank you in the meantime for words of peace to guard our hearts and may His name always be on our lips…Amen! Have a peace-filled Christmas sweet friend.
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

My favorite words in the Bible: “not as the world gives do I give to you”. Thank you for these beautiful thoughts on inner peace during this turbulent time.

When my eyes are on Him, I have peace! Because of Christmas, we have Easter – and I rejoice at that! God writes our stories when we give Him the pen – and I rejoice in that, too! Counting on it being a good one!

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
