who needs the plumber?

March 6, 2012 by admin 2 Comments

If your kitchen drain gets clogged, pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain and then 3/4 cup of white vinegar, then put a stopper in the drain hole. What sounds like popcorn popping starts. After about 5 minutes, the noise stops and you can remove the stopper and turn on the water. The… [Read More]

spring’s things

February 28, 2012 by admin 6 Comments

When I used to watch Oprah (before I got convicted not to) I always liked her “favorite things” shows. I would think how blessed that audience was to have been there at just the right time! I have a lot of favorite things and I’m starting to get even more now that Pinterest has been… [Read More]

our helper not our do-er

February 21, 2012 by admin 2 Comments

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever…John 14:16 (NKJV) Those words are in red. That means God, with clothes on, said it Himself. He will send The Helper. Not The Do-er. How many times have we said: “I can’t.” “It’s too hard.”… [Read More]

my favorite love story

February 10, 2012 by admin 20 Comments

A Walk In The Clouds (1995)… Is my favorite all-time, romantic movie. I (probably) watch it once every two years. There are a couple of scenes that may raise an eyebrow, but I am 61 years old and can handle them! Why, you ask, do I love this movie? A couple of reasons. I absolutely… [Read More]

january – it’s a wrap

January 31, 2012 by admin 14 Comments

We survived the first month of the new year! Overall, a good month. Weather was great – although for a few days, Sharpshooter wanted to build an ark. I began making my own dog food for our beloved Sam! Made the decision to not color my hair until it is completely grown out and I… [Read More]

a year with aslan

January 13, 2012 by admin 2 Comments

Lucy felt a little frightened, but she felt very inquisitive and excited as well. She looked back over her shoulder and there, between the dark tree trunks, she could still see the open doorway of the wardrobe and even catch a glimpse of the empty room from which she had set out. (She had, of… [Read More]

Kate said fix Today, I come to confess. Dun Dun D Kate said fix

Today, I come to confess.
Dun Dun Dun Dun…

I used to be a FIXER.

Family problems? Not to worry I will manage, manipulate, and fix it. The only problem? It gets expensive and very stressful.

Fixing is bad for your health.

I have learned

There is a Fixer better than myself. This Fixer can and will FIX anything and anyone IF you ask.
If you release.
If you give it up.
If you lay the object of fix on the altar of sacrifice.

Sometimes…

There is an immediate fix. Sometimes The Fixer will ask you to sit still and do nothing. Sometimes The Fixer will use you in the fix.
But THIS I know…

The Fixer really doesn’t need any help from me.

So, What Does One Do?

We pray and our prayers keep The Fixer involved, on the scene, and in the situation.

The Fixer

Do you know Him?

But may the God of all grace [THE FIXER], who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5.10-11

Who or what are YOU trying to fix? Give them/it to The Fixer!
