One Word 2021
I’ve been doing this for years and I like the focus. Rarely do I choose the word, it usually chooses me. About three weeks ago during my personal time in the morning, STEADFAST jumped out at me. Two or three days later, SEEK jumped in my face.
Both words are excellent, aren’t they? But as 2020 began to come to a quick close, I asked the Lord for final confirmation. Immediately, a scripture with steadfast laid open before my eyes.
STEADFAST
Be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…1 Corinthians 15.58
Yes, LORD!
My Goal
I believe it is the era of truth. IF I’ve never spoken/written truth before? Now, is the time. Except, I have always written the Truth, according to scripture. I call myself a “truth agent” and “hope ambassador!” I will continue to be both.
Steadfast, as defined in Webster’s Dictionary…
Definition of steadfast
1a: firmly fixed in place : IMMOVABLE
b: not subject to change; the steadfast doctrine of original sin— Ellen Glasgow2: firm in belief, determination, or adherence : LOYAL her followers have remained steadfast.
I love how God gives us a focus on His Word for us individually each year when we are open to this. I’ve only been practicing this for the past three years (having a word for the year) & have been so greatly blessed by the revelation revealed during that particular year.
I actually posted about the amazing unfolding of my word this week! 😉
New year’s blessings to you Susan,
Jennifer
I shall be over to read about yours!!!!
oh I love this!! I also love the necklaces!! Gorgeous!
I have been picking a word for years too. 2020 it was “intentional”, which was an anchor for me in the midst of the madness. My verse was Colossians 3:17. For this year, 2021, it is “Peace”, more specifically, “Seek Peace and pursue it” from Psalm 34:14. Also I am stuck on Isaiah 26:3 and Colossians 3:15. Clearly I need several verses on peace for this year LOL! Anyway, I love seeing everyone elses words and how that will play out in their writing, ministry and life.
The focus is good. In recent years, the words Holy Spirit has given me have played out so prophetically in our lives.
Steadfast is a great word, Susan! My one word for this year is create! I really feel that The Lord is calling me to use my creativity in fresh new ways to bring Him glory this year and I’m excited about it!
I pray that you have a happy, blessed, and prosperous new year! God bless you!
Create! That word could only come from our CREATOR GOD!
I love the word steadfast! I’m asking God to keep it present in my mind, along with my word, redeemed. The freedom He has allowed me to feel deep within my soul has been life changing the past few months. I think finally truly receiving freedom in Christ has allowed me to feel joy and renewal. Thank you Jesus!
My goodness, doing the happy hallelujah dance with and for you, Jan.
Mine was given to me this morning!! I was beginning to wonder — not so good with the waiting.
ACCEPT / ACCEPTANCE
I want to hear more.
My word for 2021 is “secure”. Hebrews 6: 19 “ We /I have this Hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and SECURE.” My security is in God alone!
Happy New Year, Susan! I love your “s” word too! Somehow Hope always sneaks in there !
Steadfast in hope! Hebrews 6.19 covers it all!!!
My word this year is create. I am taking intentional time to create something for 30 minutes every day. This gives me time to reflect on things I’m thankful for and move forward with gratitude and grace.
Happy New Year to you! Thanks for hosting this giveaway. ❤️
The word lady has a word. CREATE – I love that!
Great word! Michele and I both came up with the same word separately. So we are excited about being CONFIDENT this year. Come share your ONEWORD at Legacy Linkup
That is awesome!
I loved reading about your word because it truly fits you so well. My word for 2021 is “Prevail”: ““rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer …” (Romans 12:12, (NASB). I look forward to seeing how God unfolds each our words in our lives!
Prevail – almost synonymous with steadfast. xo
My word for 2021 is Fearless – 2 Tim 1:7. I don’t want to let fear become what surrounds me and my thoughts every day.
Amen, Lisa. Great verse. Sounds like you may want my new book on Fear!
My word is comfort. I decided to take the little quiz on Dayspring and that’s what it came up with. Later that day, the word appeared several times, so I decided I would go with it. Would love a pendant! Blessings to you, dear Susan! xoxo
YES!!!
LIGHT! is my word. And you can hear me talk about it tomorrow. (:
LIGHT – you are a bright shining light for the Kingdom!
Connect! I considered words such as banner or standard, citizenship even. See I am a truth girl too..sometimes brutally true. God’s banner of truth is my banner. And my citizenship is in heaven. I was growing weary of the herding and warry of the censorship on social media and main stream media and felt an urge to disengage from those places. Still unsure of my word for 2021, I tried Dayspring’s word generator and it gave me “connect” which seemed opposite disengagement, but with prayer, I found it to actually be necessary to disengage in order to deeply connect. I am disengaging with the msm news, facebook, twitter and other timewasting frustrating things to find a better way to connect with my loved ones, my community, friends, family, and most importantly God. I did a quick mind map on my word and it brought further clarity to who/what/how to connect
A roadmap for 2021. I love your word and it’s spirit.
And, I love the back story of CONNECT! I’m glad we connected in 2020.
My word is Hope: my middle name. Always wondered why my mother named me Meredith Hope and my sis got the simple name Judith Ann. Never did get an answer but maybe she knew I would need “Hope” in these days of darkness on earth. Love your “steadfast!” Jesus gives us hope and a promise of eternal life for the taking. Blessing for 2021
Meredith HOPE. Merry Hope. Oh my word, I LOVE IT. How come I didn’t know this!!!!!
Is 40:31. I have never asked for a word for for the year, but as I read this I asked what my word might be and what I heard was wait. That is not something I do well
Paula, maybe “wait, and I will give you a one word!” Thanks for being here.
