All We Need Is Love ♫
But, is it?
What we need is Truth, spoken in LOVE.
But love by itself? Can get us in a world of trouble.
If my dear grandmother Emily hadn’t spoke truth in love to me thirty-seven years ago I would probably still be slopping around in the pig pen.
Thank you, Grandma, for speaking truth to me – loving me with every hard word!
What the World Needs Now is Love, Sweet Love ♫
It is?
Through my lens we need some good honest facts. What a mess we are witnessing BUT the Ekklesia is showing itself strong, bold, and confident.
But, a postscript here…..speaking truth in LOVE is absolutely what we as believers are called to do. We need to promote Truth – not provoke anger.
Advent L♥VE
I’m going to share my favorite Love scriptures.
For God so LOVED the world that He gave His one and only Son – whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. John 3.16
Through Love, serve one another. Galatians 5.13
Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren (sistren too), love one another fervently with a pure heart. 1 Peter 1.22
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another. Romans 12.10
We love Him, because He first loved us. 1 John 4.19
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. John 15.12-14
The L♥ve of God So Rich and Pure ♫
This old hymn describes it so well. Do yourself a fave, do a you tube search for the old Gaither version – it’s rich… oh yeah, and pure!
Next week, we look at JOY!
Yes! The love of God, the only true and lasting love 🙂
The One, The Only!
Love, love & more love. That’s what He gives us. And always He gives us truth!
Yes & amen. Love your new fireplace!!!
Susan, it’s funny how, when you look more deeply at song titles and lyrics, you can see the flaws (and sometimes the spot-on AMEN’s!). We do need love, but you’re right. Love by itself falls short. Truth and love together make for a powerful combination. Thanks for this reminder, my friend!
Thanks, Jeanne. I am always reminding myself!!!
Oh yes…………..we must learn to speak truth in love……….and practice it.
