I am a die-hard “birder”. I spend money on sunflower seeds, thistle seed, cracked corn, and suet cakes – yes, our backyard birds are treated very well. I love them and enjoy the pleasure they deliver with every landing on every feeder!
I have learned a lot by watching birds. Each one a little different. This Spring, my favorite bird is the Carolina Wren – they are small, industrious, and if their song and their singing is any indication, they are joyful from sun up to sun down. They never stop singing – if you go too near their nesting place, the song becomes urgent with notes of warning.
They don’t worry or fret – they just sing. And, if sensing danger, they just sing a little louder and shriller – but they always sing!
