In The Beginning
The Old Testament declares many prophetic scriptures regarding the birth of a Messiah – a Redeemer for all mankind. The first mention of Him, Jesus Christ, is found in Genesis 3.15…
“I will put enmity [hostility] between you [Satan] and the woman,
and between your [Satan] offspring and her offspring;
He [Jesus Christ] shall [fatally] bruise your head,
and you [Satan] shall [only] bruise his heel.”
We again read in Isaiah 7.14
Therefore the LORD [God] Himself will give you a sign: Listen carefully, the virgin [Mary] will conceive and give birth to a son [Jesus], and she [Mary] will call his [Jesus] name Immanuel (God with us).
For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. There shall be no end to the increase of His government and of peace, [He shall rule] on the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From that time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah; From you One shall come forth for Me [who is] to be Ruler in Israel, His goings forth (appearances) are from long ago, From ancient days.”
When Israel was a child [a young nation], I loved him, and I called My son [Jesus] out of Egypt.
The Naysayers
Those who work so hard to discredit the Bible must have difficulty explaining these scriptures away. I, for one, believe every word written in Holy Scriptures and these references only confirm my belief.
Just Imagine
If you would, the approximate 400 years between the final recorded word in the Old Testament and the Advent of The Christ, how incredibly hopeless the population felt – there were no Prophets, only scrolls and a faithful remnant of the population who firmly believed that God would fulfill His promise of sending a Redeemer – a King, if you will.
I can [very remotely] identify because having heard that Jesus would come again since I was old enough to pay attention and 70 years later I am still waiting, anticipating that wondrous moment.
But 70 years is no comparison to 400 years. Amen?
Stay With Me
Dr. Luke, the writer of the gospel of St. Luke, was a Gentile – so (perhaps) he wanted to prove and confirm his sincere belief in Yeshua by recording an extensive genealogy of the Lord Jesus. Luke 3.23-38
This lineage history traces Jesus all the way back to the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
Is that not amazing?
The Cradle
I’m writing all of the above to say this…
IT IS ALL TRUE.
THE CRADLE CRUSHED Satan’s plan.
“Hope can be found in NO ONE or NOTHING save the Lord Jesus Christ.”
This Christmas Season
It is the deepest desire of my heart that all those I love, family and friends, will take a chance on this Gift to mankind – the Christ child. Born in a stable. Lived an impeccable life. Died a heinous death on a splintered cross. Buried in a borrowed tomb. Resurrected on the third day. Ascended to heaven. And, the best part?
He really is coming back. Are you ready?
It really was no accident!
Grace & Hope

I love how you put this, Susan: “It is the deepest desire of my heart that all those I love, family and friends, will take a chance on this Gift to mankind – the Christ child.” I’m glad I took a chance on him years ago! Hope you have a Merry and meaningful Christmas.
Yes, indeed friend!
