Do you like to hold hands? I do and hubs and I do often. Sometimes as I walk past him in the living room he will extend his hand for a brief touch of hands. It’s an act of kindness, support, and solidarity. We’re in this together kind of thing.
Jesus extended His hands a lot. There was healing in His hands – still is! Wouldn’t it be grand if in our direst moment we could actually take His hand and know He is with us?
We need good imaginations to sense His touch but there are many moments I have.
A long time ago, I laid in bed and had major vain imaginations about one of my children. I knew the thoughts were being stirred by the enemy and I just couldn’t get out of the thought process he had me in. Then, suddenly I saw the Lord’s hand turn the channel and my peace returned. I don’t know how else to explain it but to say IT HAPPENED.
God uses other people to extend His hand to us. A kind word. A sister to come alongside of you and say, “Let’s pray.” Those moments are precious and tangible and I believe with all my being – those moments are God’s hands stretched out to us. You’ve heard it said…
There are no coincidences with God – only incidents.
I believe that 99% of the time!
Let’s take a look at some of the scriptures that ensure us His hands are actively involved in our lives and He is always available to us.
His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me. Song of Solomon 2.6
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms [hands]; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’ Deuteronomy 33.27
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand. Psalm 37.23-24
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14.30-31
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. John 10.28-29
We are held by His hands. THAT is my great comfort. Nothing is beyond His grasp in my life. IF I actively pursue Him and involve Him in every move, every decision, every choice – then His hand is holding mine. It is when we move outside of that hold, that protection, that we take our life in our own hands – then the consequences have the potential to be grim.
Are you held?
I am sure, all these precious aborted babies are now held in HIS HANDS!
