Celebrate Advent!
We don’t have one of those clever Advent calendars with chocolate candy or felt figures but we do have a December calendar and know it is the beginning of the Great Advent of Jesus Christ. Two thousand plus years ago, a baby was born in Bethlehem – not any baby, mind you, but the Son of God. The Lord Jesus Christ – God in an earth suit!
The world has not been the same since. In a very dark time, over four hundred silent years – no more prophets, no more scrolls, no more heralding angels bringing messages.
Dark, stark silence.
A world without hope.
I can’t even imagine. Can you? We get down and depressed if we don’t hear from the Lord for ONE DAY! But, 4 0 0 years.

The very best encouragement, right? xo
Susan, I love this. There has been a shift in me the last little while. I think the shift could be labeled “hope,” as There seems to be a light shining inside me these days – a beacon of Hope, perhaps?
I loved this post. And you.

I don’t have one of those yummy chocolate Advent calendars either. The Advent season might speed by too quickly if I did. ha.
Hope changes everything. I so agree with you, Susan! Thanks for these beautiful reminders of the different ways that God works through hope.
Maybe we both need a chocolate bar!!!!!
I cannot imagine 400 years of silence from God. So very grateful for His Word which fills us with hope each time we open its pages and read.
