It Is Seriously Time!
To grow up. This message is for anyone and everyone who has walked this faith walk for a while.
How grown up are we?
Do we still get shocked when “things” happen?
Do we easily disappoint?
Do we lose hope at the slightest of bad news?
Grow Up!
In his letter to the church at Ephesus, Paul writes these words!
Grow Up! We shouldn’t be children any longer. Tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness [straying in morality and doctrine] of deceitful plotting. But, we need to speak Truth in love so that we grow up in all things into HIM who is The Head — Christ Jesus. From Whom the whole body [the Church] joined and knit together by what every joint [person] supplies, according to the effective working [action, operative power] by which every part [people] does its share, causing growth of the body [the Church] for the edifying of itself in love! Ephesians 4.14-16
WHEW!
Unity of/in Faith!
As believers in, and followers of, Jesus Christ – crucified, buried, and resurrected – we are called to a higher level of unity. Our unifying bond is JESUS – Him alone. It’s not a method of baptism, it is not whether someone speaks in tongues, it is not the doctrine of predestination or free will, it is the LORD JESUS CHRIST. He alone is our UNITY OF FAITH.
Paul goes on to say we should be different – odd, peculiar, different than those who walk in darkness. Y’all this is powerful stuff – and so relevant for today.
Renewed in Spirit
Yes, I am preaching to the choir but every day, I am growing up. I don’t get (as) tossed about as I used to. I am more settled. I do not get as shocked as I used to get. My maturity grows to new levels each and every day. I’m not where I want to be but I’m closer!
Are you?
These aborted precious lives never had a chance to grow up.
I appreciate this call to maturity!
It’s a call to myself. But, if you benefit too then GLORY!!!
I’m growing too. As I draw nearer to the Lord every day I am not as shocked, disappointed or loose hope at the slightest bad news. I’m always going to be a work in progress as does my spiritual maturity. Thank you for this blessed message today. Blessings.

Paula, true for all of us.
I”m praying that I’m growing every day, and remember to stay in the word and stand on Our Lord’s Promises. What a day it shall be when he calls us home.
Love ya honey!
O! What a Day! A Glorious Day!
Susan, I appreciate this call to maturity, I found myself getting pretty whiney lately and playing the “spiritual” victim. God spoke firmly into my life with Joshua 1:9 and 1Corinthians 16:13-14, yes I need to grow up!
Holy Spirit is pretty good at that speaking firmly thing!!!! Thanks, Donna.
Susan, such a good reminder to be ever growing. I agree with you, I am not getting shocked or thrown about as much. Perhaps even as we grow older, we grow in wisdom.
Yes, Lord, let it be so. xo
